Leeboy Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Evening guys, I’ve never been a motorcycle fan, but lockdown has got me into watching Bennett’s and World Superbikes. Great to watch, and for a complete non rider like myself, completely terrifying, but very exciting (total opposite to F1!). I’m in my 50’s, driven many different types of cars, but never ridden a motorcycle! This may sound a strange question, but is their anywhere, where I can learn to ride a motorcycle, but not on a road, ie, some sort of day course at a track. I’m not looking, at this point, to buy/ride a bike on a daily basis, but would love to learn the very basics (I know nothing!). Does this sort of course exist? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Lee Quote
billy sugger Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Do a CBT. You will learn how to handle a bike in what is basically a car park/private land situation, and only need go on the road if you feel ready to 1 1 Quote
Guest Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 I think some schools do taster sessions but You might be just as well doing a cbt. The most part is training off road, in a car park or some such. You'll be hooked anyway so just prepare now to buy a bike. Quote
Old-codger Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Look for an off road motorcycle centre in your area, riding dirt bikes is a great way to learn to ride and falling off dont hurt much in the soft stuff. These centre usually have beginner sessions to get you started. 1 Quote
