Ducati has presented additional details on World Ducati Week 2022, announcing them during a press conference at the Ducati World section of the Mirabilandia theme park in Ravenna, Italy.

The announcements, made by Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali, include a new sponsor for the Race of Champions, test rides, race simulators, and other highlights of the three-day event slated for July 22 to 24 at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.

“It is a great satisfaction to be here in Mirabilandia within Ducati World to present the World Ducati Week 2022, a one-of-a-kind event that highlights the strong and mutual bond that exists between Ducati and the community of fans and clubs, which for us are like a true family,” Domenicali said. “The WDW demonstrates how Ducati succeeds in combining its more digital and technological side with important values such as the importance of human relationships and the pleasure of meeting up, typical elements of the concept of Italianness of which our brand is an ambassador in the world.

“World Ducati Week is just that, a physical moment, of authentic sharing of passion and relationship between enthusiasts and the company, represented by all the managers and all the riders who race with our bikes, true heroes for all Ducatisti,” Domenicali continued. “I can’t wait to be able to experience first-hand once again the beauty and the pride of finding ourselves at the Misano Circuit, which has hosted us since the first edition, to celebrate all together the passion and love for Ducati and everything it represents.”

WDW2022 Race of Champions

While speaking about the 11th edition of WDW, Domenicali was joined by Ducati riders Pecco Bagnaia, Enea Bastianini, Luca Marini, Marco Bezzecchi, Michele Pirro, Álvaro Bautista, Michael Ruben Rinaldi, Nicolò Bulega, Oliver Bayliss, and legendary Ducati champion Troy Bayliss.

These riders will participate in the Race of Champions, sponsored for 2022 by global technology company Lenovo, a technology partner of MotoGP’s Ducati Lenovo Team and the main sponsor of the Aurba.it Racing Ducati Team in World Superbike.

The Lenovo Race of Champions is set for Saturday, July 23, and will feature 21 Ducati riders from the MotoGP, World Superbike, and World Supersport championships. Each rider will compete on Panigale V4 and Panigale V2 motorcycles in a dual-category race with two winners.

During the press conference, Ducati also unveiled the special liveries of the Panigale V4 S superbikes that will be used in the Lenovo Race of Champions. The bikes are styled off the liveries used by Bagnaia and Bautista. The Panigales used in the Race of Champions will be available for customers.

Ducati Simulators, Test Rides, DRE

Ducatisti will be busy off the track as well, as Ducati will have simulators for a virtual experience. WDW2022 visitors can virtually compete aboard a Panigale on the racetrack or drift the Streetfighter and take home a souvenir photo. Multistrada fans will be treated with a history display of the Multistrada lineup, from the debut 2003 1000 DS to the 2022 V4 S.

World Ducati Week has four-wheeling fans covered with an Audi RS Q e-tron that participated in the Dakar Rally alongside the DesertX, plus the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini next to the Lamborghini Siàn FKP 37 from which the bike takes its inspiration.

The Ducati and Scrambler lineups will also be available for test rides on the roads surrounding the Misano Circuit. Track fans can reserve a guided ride on Misano aboard their own motorcycle, or book a test of the Panigale V4 S.

Ducati says its Ducati Riding Academy (DRE) will also be present for some training. This year DRE Rookie will also be available for youngsters, along with “mini-sessions” of DRE Adventure excursions for ADV riders to test the Multistrada V4 S, Scrambler Ducati Desert Sled, and DesertX.

As in other years, Ducati will share an exclusive preview of a new 2023 model that will be officially unveiled to the public in autumn.

WDW2022 Evening Events: Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23

The World Ducati Week parade will take place Friday evening for the “Let’s Ride as One” trip.  The parade begins with a lap of the circuit and ends in Riccione for the Scrambler Beach Party. The Samsara Beach bathing establishment in Riccione will in fact host an evening of music featuring Italian DJ and producer Benny Benassi.

Saturday evening begins with the “Rustida,” or barbecue, served directly on the main straight of the track by the Ducati managers. The evening will then move to the Santamonica Stadium of Misano, adjacent to the circuit paddock, where the riders will take the stage for the traditional greeting to the Ducatisti. The evening will then be topped off with the energy of popular Italian house music trio Meduza.

To participate in the World Ducati Week evenings on Friday and Saturday, it is necessary to purchase an entrance ticket to the event.
