R6 2005 good bike?

I’m looking for my first big bike.

is the r6 2005 a good bike (not specifically as a first bike but in general)

I want a sports bike, done some research etc, know it won’t be comfy but it’s a weekend toy.

I’ve read about gearboxes shitting themselves, more often on the older ones.

anyone got advice, history, experience with this model?

only a couple owners and got history.
