Hi there,

Apologies if this is the wrong section…

I’ve just moved to the Chelmsford area.
I’m wondering if anyone knows of any free motorbike parking spots near the railway station.
All the nearby car parks seem to charge for motorbike parking as much as cars pay!

Thanks in advance

Might be worth checking Chelmsford council website. They will list parking details.

You can park in the High Chelmer car park for free on the ground floor, left hand side. 5 -10 minute walk to station.

Thanks Shepherd.
The mill yard station car park has a large motorbike bay as you enter. Do you know if you have to pay for that? The board just says ‘motorbike charges may apply’

cheers

Sorry, no idea! If there's any doubt, I wouldn't chance it.

I always use the m/c bays in Market Road - opposite where Evoke nightclub used to be. No charges or time limits that I've seen.

I only use Chelmo for shopping or drinking, so never there too long.

Hello everyone I’m don’t mind if it costs or not but I was wondering if there’s a safe place to park my motorcycle overnight near Chelmsford station or like in Chelmsford town from about 630am till about 1-2pm the next day ?

thank you in advance

It may be worth having a chat to reception at The County Hotel or ( less likely) Premier Inn - should be cctv there at least. Residential is all permit only around the area and car parks not great. High Chelmer has free m/c spaces and is sort of locked overnight. I wouldn't leave mine there.

I think I'd go to nearest residential area without permits and walk or taxi to the station.

Once way back n time some scrote tried to nick my Z650 in Carlisle so I went and asked the cop shop if I could park at there front and much to my surprise they agreed.

Worth a try I would have thought.

Cheers

These days you’ll struggle to find one.

They shut all our local in-town ones down.
