Rebuild Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Hello everyone, to continue on the project of resurrecting the old good bandit, there had to be valve clearances checked and adjusted. It went well, until a plastic nut of the gauge feeler set decided to fly and landed straight and deep into the engine where the timing chain is driven by the crankshaft. Very pleasant situation that nearly required me to learn distance surgery Well, here is how it went: Beside of that I was surprised that almost no adjustment was needed, nearly all of the clearances were ok, just two needed to be done. The rest was just a check. Enjoy and have a great day R 5 Quote
linuxrob Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 (edited) when i do mine on the bandit, every 50 miles i use 2 feelers and try not to over tighten the lock nuts just snug them down, also those cam cover bolts are soooo easy to strip, good video, this is me doing mine at around 55000 miles, also splashed out on the Suzuki tool instead if pliers, very cheap it is too.
