We're busy doing the First bike on scene course on the 7th, but tempted to fit one of the other days ...Northumbria Police have two weekends of their cornering clinics. the date are 30th and 31st aug also 6th and 7th sep, if you have not been to one try it, if you have done one the format has changed. the venue has also altered the 30th and 6th are at county hall morpeth, the other venue is at tyne and wear fire and rescue HQ washington on the 31st and 7th. "The aim of the clinics will be to explain to riders the importance of good skills, with examples of what can go wrong and how to improve their riding. The Cornering Clinics have been adopted by other forces as part of the national "Bikesafe" scheme.Bikers are encouraged to attend the training sessions, which are free and last about two hours from 10am to 12 noon. There is no need to pre-book.After a training session bikers also have the opportunity for a free assessed ride with observers from Northumbria Advanced Motorcycles and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Drivers and Riders.
