fluffy Posted February 28, 2024 Posted February 28, 2024 Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and I need a bit of help please..ive got a sinnis matrix 3i 125cc scooter and I can't get my back brake to work it has a new master cylinder a new hose and a new calliper and new fluid and it still doesn't work. The mechanic is scratching his head wondering why its not working. Could anyone please give me some advice on what to do please..and thank you all once again Quote
husoi Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Poor bleeding? Assuming the pads are new as well. Unless there is a leak, which would leave a poodle on the floor I would go for air in the system 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 get a different mechanic to look at it might be best. not working as in?? lever moves freely when applied and released with "little or no artificial resistance? or is there resistance in a direction? but no pressure is going to the callipers or not the pads? Look at the master cylinder, is the piston seal good. has the rubber cap/seal on the master cylinder been sucked down? it should be flat every time... 1 Quote
fluffy Posted February 29, 2024 Author Posted February 29, 2024 Thank you for the reply. As far as I know there is no air in the system and the pads are engaging but it won't fully engage on the brake disc they are all new parts I've even had a new disc on aswell but still nothing..thank you once again for the help Quote
RideWithStyles Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 braking systems are very simple in there basic form.. the other thing is is the brake system abs... if so check the fuses, relays and the abs pumps are a git to bleed. Quote
fluffy Posted February 29, 2024 Author Posted February 29, 2024 Hi thank you for the reply..unfortunately no I haven't got abs but thank you for the advice and time Quote
RideWithStyles Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 right easy then. so start at the first point. fluid and res, lever, master cylinder, hose, lever, master cylinder, hose, caliper, pistons, pins and pads.. Quote
