Hi, my cbr 125 idles and runs alright but in first gear she seems to be bogging out and stalling. I have to proper ease her into it or she’ll stall. My oil sum seems to smell like petrol too and the oil is really thin. Does anyone know what could cause this problem? She seems to be having trouble with power. I’ve checked the vacuum diaphragm but it’s all dry so I’m not sure where else to look as the chap I bought it off said he’s recently changed the carb jets. Maybe he’s got the wrong jets in? Does anyone know what could be the problem

First question is when was it last fully serviced? Basic service items being past their best could cause problems.

If the previous owner changed the carb jets ask why.

If the oil is contaminated with fuel then change it.

Okay thanks for the heads up. I’ve drained the oil and petrol in it. I’m letting it air out over night it won’t do it no harm. Then I’ll refill it up and see if petrol still getting into the oil. I don’t think it’s going to be a major problem as if it was going passed my rings surely it would bend my piston and the oil would be sutty? The oils pretty clean just really thin and smells of petrol. I’ll keep you updated. Thanks for the hel
