Pie man Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 I know you only get what you pay for. I have a Kreiga R30 backpack and it is, IMO, the best on the market, however; after shelving the Bumot panniers this year, I purchased the Rhinowalk 30l and 10l Tailpack, basically a copy of the Kreiga, and yes, definitely nowhere near Kreiga quality. They were brilliant for the money, very easy to fasten to the bike and same with the 10l connecting to the 30l. I doubted their waterproofing but after hitting heavy rainfall in the south yesterday I can say the contents remained dry. Also made my filtering through traffic on my long ride home less stressful. Not bad for £60 2 1 Quote
veracocha Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 I have been using the 30l for some time (over 7k miles) and it's been brilliant. No water ingress and everything remains tight fastener wise. I inserted a washing up bowl which I just slide out, makes getting at stuff so easy. 4 Quote
Fish Posted October 26, 2024 Posted October 26, 2024 I recently purchased a couple of Rhinowalk options for a trip that covered Spain and Portugal over 2 weeks. I ordered 2*20ltr, 1*10ltr and Universal Saddle Bag Mounting Base (which I ended up not using). I weighed up the Rhinowalk vs the Kriega bags, and just could not justify the difference. I read some reviews and all seemed positive for the Rhinowalk kit. I used 1*20ltr Moto Tail Pack bag for normal clothes, washbag and some trainers. We planned on 7 days of clothes, some long sleeve tops, t-shirts, pair of jeans, shorts. There was still some space compared to trying to put it in a US-20 pack, so the Rhinowalk is a little better in dimensions. The 10ltr bag was used for my bike bits, i.e. waterproofs, puncture repair kit, spare gloves and some tools. How did the kit stand up to the weather and the trip, both the 10 and 20ltr bags have dry liners on the inside and they stood up really well. Nothing got wet or even damp , and on the top of each bag is a seperate zipped pocket that kept documents dry and save. The bags came with the same wrap straps for mouting points off the frame that the Kriega's come with, also come with the same buckle fasteners again like Kriega. The only difference was the Rhinowalk come with two should straps, to turn it into a proper rucksack type bag, compared to the single strap from Kriega. Would I recommend these, yes without a beat. The ends that hung over the end of the bike will get a wash and brush off, and then placed in storage ready for next years adventures. PS. I lent my second 20ltr bag to my friend and he connected it to his US-20 pack using the supplied straps without any issues. 3 3 Quote
