correct placement of hip-pads

Hi folks;

 

Just wondering (having removed these hip pads)

 

From this picture, if one has some hip pads that are asymetrical, and has to decide where the more protruding side points,

 

Would anyone with knowledge/experience say that it goes as marked in this picture, namely the curvy protruding bits pointing forward?

 

They're clearly intended to be put one way and not the other.. got this picture from an advertisement for armour.

Looks like they might need turning 90 degrees, so the green arrows point down, and the crease in the armour folds around your hip?? 

That's a guess, of course.

Great @RideWithStyles and @Simon Davey many thanks for the affirmation!  I'd feel foolish if I dedicated myself to wearing gear but it wasn't actually set up right.
