rennie Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 just pour a bit of engine oil, not wd40!, down hole where spark plug goes, leave it overnight and try to turn it againonly a bit of oil mind! not gallons! Quote
Guest Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 ok will do tommorow morn how long shouldi leave it Quote
rennie Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 couple of hours i should thinkif that doesn't work you've got to strip engine Quote
Guest Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I hope the oil has worked for you, but if it hasn't I agree with most of the mech minded on here. The top of the engine needs strippin, this may not be as bad as it sounds , and depends on the type of bike. Sounds like a new bike or engine though. When you turn the flywheel is the piston moving? make sure you leave the plug out and measure to see if the piston has moved. If it has moved you may be in luck. Quote
slugworth1987 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 is this a 2 stroke or 4 stroke? 2 Quote
Guest Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 yes 2 stroke ok if it dosnt work ill srtip it Quote
flipper Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 if it has been sat for 2 years then it's quite possible the crank seals have dried out and perished or torn. Quote
slugworth1987 Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 much luck today? its been nice here most the day so i assume you would of worked on it all day Quote
Guest Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 been on after gt home no i need to take pistons off now Quote

rollazuki Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 OK, Im gonna ask a few real basic questions. What kinda bike is it?Was it running before it was laid up for 2 years?Have you just bought it?Can you be sure of its history? What the hell are you gonna do with an allen key to get a piston out?The general public DO need to know!! Quote
Guest Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 dr 100yesyesyesthe metal thing were spark plug goes is held in bu allen key thing Quote
Guest Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 thats not gonna get the piston out thought mate assuming you mean the head, which would be where the spark plug lives. when you remove that youll find the piston lives in the bore which is likely to be scrap.you need to remove the barrel and carefully take out the circlip holding in the wrist/gudgeon pin then remove the pin to release the piston. take pics mate , might help us tell you how screwed it is Quote
Guest Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 on another point the reason noone is sure is that most of us own bikes and not pull start pit things....so pics really do help Quote
