CBT riding

I sat my CBT in England and want to take a trip to Southern Ireland, will it be valid?

As far as I know you need a full driving licence to ride or drive abroad.

Pretty much what old codger says. You can't ride abroad on L plates and use a British CBT in Ireland. The Irish equivalent is more difficult to get than ours apparently and they don't accept ours. You can ride in Northern Ireland as its part of the UK but not in  Eire.
