JRH Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 This weekend at the exhibition centre in Warwickshire we had the above show. Our model boat club had our usual stand and as it is the 200th year of the RNLI we had a big lifeboat turn out. A few picture of the stand. (the fire boat is mine) 8 Quote
Simon Davey Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 (edited) So many people must have left with the intention of building a boat! What a lovely display, your club must have been so proud to show it all off. After another drool, I can see how big your fire boat is, I hope it sees plenty of water. We need a "wow, that's amazing" emoji. Edited October 20, 2024 by Simon Davey 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Yea lovely looking boats, Great admiration. the big show in the middle must have taken a long time and a lot of preparation. I’m not a boater so going to guess yours the third from bottom the black one as that finally stands out? not taking the piss in particular or say its any less of an achievement, but why they all have lovely stands and what not, but yours doesn’t? looks like it’s still been strapped to the bedside drawers which is placed ontop of writers drawer? It's strapped down to prevent things disappearing. Unfortunately several models were damaged during the show. Also there are draws on the others identified ( so can't be opened) which have various tools and spare propellers. It's also a working stand. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Ahhh so there is an actual reason and not a last minute afterthought. it still can’t understand people cant read a sign or resist even when told not too even when explicitly told not too, it amazes me how they got to the age the did without something fookin their life span shorter…maybe they should go to Australia and learn a thing or two. I'm have a nightmare with paint coats reacting. I used Rustoleum rattle can paint, then Rustoleum semi gloss lacquer annndddddd it reacted. So scrap off the reacted paint and then sand till smooth. A couple of primer / filler coats. Rub down till smooth and mask / repaint the areas. then a couple of coats of a water based epoxy, EZE COTE https://deluxematerials.co.uk/products/eze-kote. To finish. The EZE Cote being water based doesn’t react and dries hard. it can also be used with glass fibre tissue and direct onto balsa. 1 Quote
