Craig1986 Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Am I able go straight to a 125cc scooter to pass a cbt if you have never ridden a motorbike bike before Quote
Fiddlesticks Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Depends on your age. After you’ve completed CBT, you can ride a: moped if you’re 16 or over motorcycle up to 125cc and with a power output of up to 11kW if you’re 17 or over You must use L plates (L or D plates in Wales). You must pass your full moped or motorcycle test within 2 years, or you have to either take CBT again or stop riding. https://www.gov.uk/motorcycle-cbt 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Assume your birth year is 86? So around 38? Doubt it. if you have never ridden a mb before id say get the lessons at a training place first and the cbt done afterwards regardless. get some miles/saddle time and take the full quali afterwards or even progress to a higher classification before the expiration of two years. bonio Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 Are you asking about what's legal? Or what's feasible? If it's what's feasible, then a lot depends on whether you drive a car. If you do, then yes, it's not too big a leap to get on a bike and do a CBT on a 125. It's even easier if you can ride a push bike too. If you've never driven a car, then it's a lot to learn. You can do it, but it might take you a few goes. Alternatively, you could ask the school if they can offer one or two 1:1 sessions so you can get up to speed with some basic control of the machine before you have to take on the figures of eight and managing the indicators and actually riding on the road on the CBT.
