I'm stumped to what it could be that's causing the issue the bike is a 2019 mutt mongrel/fatsabbath.  Thank you in advance for the help

Hi @shelmet, and welcome to the forum.

Have you looked for something obvious like a wire that's been rubbed bare? You might have to dig around for it.

I'd say you're in a way, lucky, a burning smell near the back of the engine kinda makes it easier to locate the fault.

You just need to get brave with the tools, and start removing the panels to reveal where the smell is coming from.

I haven't yet I got it one put it away and going to look at it tomorrow . There is a little box that looks like a radiator behind the engine that was hot as fook.  But thank you I'll take a look to see where a wire could be rubbing . 3hr walk with the thing I'm done for the night 🤣

I would be thinking that what you are saying is hot is the regulator/ rectifier

these can get hot as per the fins to radiate the heat away

Check the wiring plugs on it for signs of melting

Yeah first things first it’s a Chinese made and part bike sold under newly business loosely named British brand.

so id agree at looking at the wiring, loom and connectors and I mean actually really look at it! Unplug each section and really inspect it even under the over cover. They are well known to be too cheap, too tight (wrapped around the frame) and everything else bad under the sun.
