Moo3264 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I have a Sinnis Terrain 125 and recently I’ve been having some problems with it. When the keys aren’t in, the light is still on the dash. It now doesn’t start up, I’ve got an alarm fitted so when I’m trying to start it the alarm is going off and the engine is ticking over like it is trying to start. I’ve took it to the garage and they replaced the battery but that’s not resolved anything but obviously with it being Christmas time the garage is now closed. Any ideas please? Many thanks Quote
Simon Davey Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 @Moo3264 It seems obvious that the alarm is causing a problem. How to fix is anybody's guess. 1 Quote
Capt Sisko Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Is it an alarm linked to an immobiliser or just an alarm? If the latter, just disconnect it and see what happens. Also the term 'the engine is ticking over' means it's running, but at throttle closed / minimum revs position like you'll have it with the bike on the stand 'ticking over'. I assume you mean turning over, but not actually starting. Quote
Moo3264 Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 It’s linked to a immobiliser and yeah sorry, it’s not actually starting Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 The neutral light shouldn't be on when the keys are out of the ignition. I suspect you're primary issue is a short somewhere in the wiring loom. The alarm is probably a secondary symptom. The electrics on these aren't the best. You are going to either need to get methodical with a multimeter or hand it over to someone experienced in electrics. Not all mechanics are experts with electrics so ask around. Quote

RideWithStyles Posted March 12 Posted March 12 First thing to mind is Sounds like the alarm/immobliser or a fuse. After that Check connections for corrosion and loom for chafing and tight spots around the frame or connectors. Ground ( earthing points) are bad for those bikes. check relays and switches (little black boxes). 1 Quote
