RAYK47 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Does anyone know what cable is needed to connect to the bike that allows you to wire in other things i.e. connect a USB charger to a switched live. I think it's called an auxiliary or accessory cable. I have a 2015 Triumph street triple . 1 Quote
Simon Davey Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) @RAYK47 This sort of thing? https://innovv.co.uk/shop/accessories/powerhub/powerhub-3/ https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/2429840? Edited February 4 by Simon Davey Quote
Bungleaio Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I've got one of these, works perfectly and fits any bike https://healtech.co.uk/shop/thunderbox-tb-power-distribution-module/ 1 1 Quote

RAYK47 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 these look interesting, thanks gents. Need somoething that makes adding cameras and a USB charger simple. Need them to be connected to a switched live. 1 Quote

RAYK47 Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 ignition switch, the cameras drain the battery otherwise. 1 Quote
JRH Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I have a home made device similar to the Healtech. 12v relay connected to an ignition switched cable. For me the tail lights. Then 12 supply via a normally open contact to a terminal block where the accessories are connected. 2 Quote

Hairsy Posted February 4 Posted February 4 As has been suggested by @JRH , fitting a relay yourself to create an ignition switched supply that can handle a good level of power is fairly easy. Fused relays are really cheap and can be bought with the right connector (e.g. click here). You just need to add some wire of appropriate gauge and a few connectors. If you didn't have any of the tools or supplies then I would guess you could do it for c.£25 (a little more for quality tools that will last you forever). If you've already got the basic electrical stuff and the tools, then sub £10. Either do some research online on how to do it or start a thread on here and I'm sure people will help (myself included). 1 Quote

It's very clever, there's also an override that will activate it from a switched live, I have used that now as I wanted to set the CarPlay thing up before setting off but before I had that the auto power on/off worked well. 1 Quote
