Phil3639 Posted Wednesday at 15:34 Posted Wednesday at 15:34 Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice.. The rear light cluster on my panigale 899 if fully intergrated. I've been advised that this will fail an MOT and I should add some separate indicators. I've bought some cheap ones to connect up just to get it through the MOT, I will remove the once it passes. I'm having difficulty with the wiring.. the indicators I bought have 2x cables coming out of them but the cable going to the intergrated one only has 1 cable. I've tried all different ways to connect it up but nothing seems to work. Do I need an adaptor or am I doing something wrong. Thanks Quote
S-Westerly Posted Wednesday at 15:58 Posted Wednesday at 15:58 Is the rear light cluster oem? If it is then there's unlikely to be an issue with MOT as it would have been type approved in the first place. If it's after market then maybe it isn't legal so..... Quote
Phil3639 Posted Wednesday at 16:12 Author Posted Wednesday at 16:12 No it's not OEM. It is aftermarket and I have been told by an MOT garage that it wouldn't pass Quote

JRH Posted Wednesday at 20:32 Posted Wednesday at 20:32 (edited) There should be 2 indicator cables into the integrated unit, 1 for left and 1 for right. The integrated unit will then have 1 cable for the earth (negative ). This earth will be for the stop light and rear light as well. the separate indicators have 2 cables. 1 for earth (negative) and 1 for the indicator feed. You may find the cable colours for the rear indicators are the same as the front, otherwise you need to find an electrical schematic for the bike to show the correct cable colours. otherwise it will be a case of disconnecting cables one at a time to find which ones are for the indicators. check are the indicators LED or filament type. RideWithStyles Posted Thursday at 14:47 Posted Thursday at 14:47 The lights are led and maintenance free. its a priority plug and cable fitment with the plug and cable housing for all lights at the rear, both pos and neg….bit like an easy track/race delete system harness. so yes there is one cable but its all there for you to splice or extend the cable. wire 14 is what your looking for primarily but look to see if 13 is there aswell. Phil3639 Posted Thursday at 16:43 Author Posted Thursday at 16:43 Thanks for all your help guys. I might need to get someone who knows what to do as I lm baffled. This picture is of the current cables leading to the intergrated indicators. As you can see there's 2x cable leading into the connector and only 1 cable coming out (yellow cable goes to the right indicator and the blue goes to the left. I was hoping it would be as easy as connecting the 2x cables from each new indicator to the cables that go into the connector. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work Quote
Phil3639 Posted Thursday at 16:58 Author Posted Thursday at 16:58 Ok, quick update. I now got a single flash on the new indicator. Would you recommend i get an adaptor with a risistor built in?? Thanks again everyone for your help 1 Quote
