The Painter Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I have a 2001 Yamaha R1, I took it for it’s MOT today, the bike is started monthly but I hadn’t ridden it for a couple of years, however I couldn’t select gear without it stalling, the clutch was stuck, I couldn’t bump start it so I started it in gear with the clutch out, not the most elegant procedure but it started and the clutch released soon afterwards, it rode ok afterwards but I’m paranoid I could have damaged something, any thoughts would be appreciated. Hairsy Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago As it's been left long enough for the clutch to seize, there's a good likelihood of condensation having formed inside the engine casing through ambient warming and cooling during the time in storage. I think it would be really wise to warm the bike and change the oil. 2 Quote
