Spiked Nuts!

Right now I got your attention

I have been hunting high and low for some spiked nuts for my bike

These were very popular in the late eighties/early nineties

Gives the bike a bit of the Britsh Bulldog look.

So far all I have managed to come across are the snap on caps they use for Hogs and Hog Wannabees

or lightweight race replacements in various hues.

Does any body know if you can still get them for the jap bikes and in particular my Suzuki GSX750?

Cheers in advance :D

Edit: hope this is the right place to post

Thinking they will look good on my bike

I like them

And yes your all probably thinking.............wierdo

EDIT

p.s. I have seen them before not what Im after

Wonderng if they have stopped production because demand is not there anymore (out of fashion) or some safety related reason.

Thanks for the help Frankie

Appreciate it mate but I've tried all of those :(

Even went to the extreme of emailing some british custom cycle manufacturers without response :(

This really is a last ditch attempt to sourcing some off the shelf products.

The only other route will be to have them made bespoke

For that I will need to know the size of bolt i.e. M8 etc and the pitch of the thread of each and every bolt I wish to replace :eek2: .

Looks like it'll be a long long process.

Good job I'm not planning on getting rid, even if I do go for the GSXR thou

if you look at the links above they do pike nuts in M6/M8 sizes, just buy them in batches then change what fits as you go along.. you might want to get some threaded bar and cut it into lengths, fit it in with some locktight, so that you then have bolts for the yolks etc, depending on where you want to fit them..

Not keen on the thread lock idea

I tried that with my mirrors

After a zillion attempts they now stay put

Would rather get some bolts turned

your threads must have been shot... next time use PTFE tape.. works wonders.. but only on non load bearing areas..

The perchs are fine

Its the rest of the adjustable bits that were the pain

I put it down to the chrome on the threads not allowing the threadlock to grip

Got there eventually

i've never needed threadlock for mirrors, just wind them in then wind the locknut down to lock.. if the threads have gone then they dont tighten.. my chrome is now rust, cheap chrome mirrors,
