Guest Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 when tootling along through the gears my bike runs sweet as a nut.. but.. as soon as u het to higher speeds.. 90 plus.. my bike seems to start pulsing... like its starving itself of fuel... like there a load of clag causing a slight blockageam thinking along the lines of either flushing carbs out... getting it re-dyno'd an checking jets, and or new fuel filteranyone have any other suggestions..? Guest Nickki Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Hey You've not seen this boy ride!!Hell fire, if you think i'm fast, wait till you ride with him He knows how to handle a bike I tell ya!!Full respect Quote
rennie Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I thought I had a similar problem when I first got the Blade, it was fine accelerating but trying to hold a steady speed it was jerking like mad. It was because I was holding the throttle too tight and as the bike is so responsive, it was going on/ off the gas all the time. Quote
Stu Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 take a look at the chain tension/condition one of my bikes once did that and it turned out to be a tight spot in the chain i adjusted the chain using the tight spot was a bit better but benifitted more from a new chain might be worth a check Quote
Guest Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 i'll be buying a new chain come the end of the month so should be an all round improvement there anyway.. i stripped the bike down last night.. checked all breather pipes.. HT leads cleaned air filter.. etc.. so need to take it out for a run this evening... see how she performs...n if need be.. dig out the haynes n eliminate every possibility.. Quote
Guest Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 PidDid you manage to sort your problem out??My FZR started running on three cylinders on the way home last nite!!!Gotta try to sort it out this weekend!!! Quote
Guest Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 have had a look at it.. stil need to take it out for a good blast n check her out now...been looking on ebay for some new HT leads... if not i'll give Graeme France a ring and get some from him...also gonna grabe a new chain as per Stu_m's post.. but waiting toll Rufforth auto jumble on.. (1st say of every month) theres a gut there who does new bike chains (gold link) for mine for £35.00n if all else fails.. i'll get it re-jetted again.. Quote
Guest Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Thinkin' of fixing my FZR4 and getting rid of it!!Had enough of all the small things that go wrong with older bikes!!Think I may have fallen' out of love with her a bit!!Had her 5 years tho', so not bad for me!! Quote
