It sounds a bit similar to the probs Jimsoon was having - starts ok on the choke first thing in the morning, no choke needed on way home, 10 miles to the childminder's house to pay her bill. The engine was off for no more than 10 mins and the problem that we had when we were checking the map arose again!

Checked K/S first, tried in neutral with clutch out & with clutch, in 1st with clutch in, in neutral with side stand up & down.........eventually she fired up and off I went - but she did feel a bit 'jerky' untill I got haome about a mile later!

Ideas again please chaps.......and try to not make them too expensive!

jerky might be a result of sooted up plugs, which would indicate fuelling problem, take a look and compare with spark plug section in any haynes manual

Thanks for the hints!

Dan, sorry for hijacking your thread! I got confused and thought I was chatting in the thread I started!!!

Its not a problem Mr M, all goes in the same melting pot!

So is it going yet?

I've not managed to break my Blade as yet, but since it spends its life under cover in a nice dry garage, that's hardly surprising... :D

Still away at bike hospital QB, I expect to hear tomorrow or tuesday.

Just rung him. No news as yet, says he looked yesterday but couldn't find anything conclusive. Says he gonna look again tomorrow, and I quote 'should have some news tomorrow night'

hope its something really easy and cheap. but then i suppose theres the issue of kicking yourself that you didn't find it .... :)

Still no news .. :(

Rung him twice earlier, no answer. Could be any reason really, but doesn't stop me being exceptional cynical about it...

Well... spoke to grease monkey this morning....

me: 'How's it going with my 'blade?'

him: 'No luck yet, I've tried the usual stuff but no joy. I've got a bloke coming next week who is an electrics expert'

me: 'Yeah well, I tried all the usual stuff, thats how come I gave up and give it to you ......'

AA? , RAC?, mate with a van?

I don't know mate  seems to have been in there a long time for no result!

With the nature of the fault Rennie, I expected it to take this long. I'm more peeved the guy obviously didn't believe me when I told him what the problem is, and wasted a week.

Does that mean he's going to be asking an electrician?! Do you think he can spell e l e c t r i c i a n?

What an arse this is for you, Dan. Nevermind, it'll be all the more sweeter when you get the power back between your legs :D
