Guest Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Been having trouble lately with fingers sometimes going numb even on short trips and had been putting it down to poor circulation. On the weekend I loosened the bar end screws, twisted the ends slightly and heard a 'cracking' sound as the rubber inside unstuck itself from each bar. It took all of 10 seconds to do and it has completely cured it! Thought it was worth passing on..There seems to be quite a few people suffering similiar type probs (I'm not suggesting this help everyone of course) I don't remember ever hearing about this prob years ago, no idea why that might be. Guest Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 The numb hand fingers syndrome is caused by vibrations through the bars, two other helpful tips to stop it are remove bar end weights roll up a 2 inch strip of Roofers lead flashing push inside handlebars replace weights, or fill your bars with self expanding foam ( the sort builders use ) both these will absorb the vibrations.
