HAYLP!

Got a prob with me gixxer, 750WN

It's had problems starting for a while now, when the starter button's depressed, the relay clicks away merrily to itself, and requires a fair few more prods to engage the starter motor...but now it's not bothering to engage said starter at all. The neutral light dims slightly when I'm trying to start it, which is a vaguely good sign. Battery seems ok, everything lighting up as required.

what is the prob likely to be? relay or starter?

Don't know about that harry, Earths tend to show as a problem straight away and not over time like this one!!

I would do a capacity test on your battery. May have dropped a cell or summat!!!

Aye, stuck the battery on charge (took 'feckin AGES to find a charger, moved in her flat etc etc - makes me look like the epitome of organisation). Gonna give it a coupla hours, then try it again.

Hate probs like this....there isn't usually one quick "Ooo, it'll be that, deffo", it'll mean rooting around in salt encrusted wiring looms till darkness decends, I just know it. No garage or indeed garden, so having to arse around on the pavement.

Not necessarily, if it gets worse over time.

I'd check all fuses and make sure the earth is alright. Can;t think of anything else
