  1. I still have no idea what's going on, but if it means I can get the bike out, can I have 292 please.
  2. Wow, my ride-on mower is a single pot, and that thunders along, can't imagine a 500cc single that won't rattle one's nuts and bolts.
  3. I'm about as tucked in as bed sheets blowing in the wind on a washing line. I snapped the bike up because I liked the "tourer" part of the sports tourer description. I'll see what cash I have after Christmas. Unless I can get away with buying the missus a screen for my bike for Christmas
  4. Thanks @onesea I was originally looking at something very similar, but rather than fit one to the narrow bubble that I have (which would probably be ineffective) I think I'll replace the whole screen. Either get a standard screen and fit a spoiler that you have, or buy a touring screen, which has the spoiler shape at the top..
  5. I've seen a touring screen somewhere £165,had the spoiler lip at the top.
  6. Brilliant, that's exactly what I was hoping someone would say. Thanks Steve. Considering throttle behaviour, I'm also thinking I don't have standard jets either, along with the Beowolf cans..
  7. Soooooo...... Went out for an hour this morning, and although it was windy, I did get a little more bashed about than I'd like. I have a feeling this is actually a double bubble/race screen. Whilst I appreciate it's supposed to create a higher airflow pattern, the "bubble" does seem quite narrow, having looked at many ZZR1200's on tinternet and YouTube, I'm thinking that a standard, or touring screen might be the solution. Do you good people agree this is a double bubble, or am I talking bo*****s?
  8. Seriously nice paint job
  9. Ironically, whatever the cost, most are made in China
  10. I agree with buying cheap whenever possible, and I often do, as long as I know it'll do the same job, and last as long as something thrice the price. A spoiler is a good example. There are plenty of bad examples though.
  11. Yes, that's looking likely. Besides, I can't yet order anything else for the bike, until I can think of something for the missus for Christmas........
  12. Hmmmmm, that turned into a rant, apologies.
  13. Yep, first one I looked at on that link was available on prime delivery for tomorrow, but sold by a business in China. If you click on the seller, they're in China. Nothing wrong with Chinese people, nothing wrong with Chinese products, but, I don't like how Amazon and eBay sell stock of a business based abroad that isn't giving anything to the UK. They sell it all cheap, because they can avoid all the overheads that a British business would have to pay, this of course, makes Amazon and eBay look great, because they're selling cheap stuff.
  14. I couldn't actually find anything cheap that wasn't being sold by someone in China. I've emailed Bikehps for a recommendation, as they have a great selection.
  15. Many thanks all, the idea sounds positive (for the best part)... I might try a cheap clip on one to gauge the affect before buying something decent.
  16. Awesome, thanks @Stu& @Gerontious I'll order something after Christmas.
  17. Regarding those flip-up little deflectors that attach to the top of the bike screen and can be angled up etc...... Are they any good, do they work? Also, I can still get a "double bubble" screen for my bike, does that extra profile make a difference too? Cheers
  18. Absolutely frickin gorgeous, congratulations
  19. Having bought a Monokey top box, because Monokey is printed on the pannier brackets, I've just changed the top box plate which turned out to be Monolock In my defence, there was nothing printed on the top plate, but I realised before the top box arrived.
  20. I actually enjoyed reading, not to long, but plenty of info. Interesting, and reassuring that they used stock bikes.
  21. Just when I thought I knew the simple stuff

    Hello!

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have the best kind of first bike. You'll get to know it well as you give it TLC. Also, it's OK to talk to it, and give it a stroke and a pat.
