    Mini moto choke

Aye, same happened to my 125, ended up being 2 stroke dried up in the carb and not getting to the chamber, resulting in the chamber and piston being stuffed. Ended up doing a full engine rebuilt myself. But yeah.. take the carb out, clean, check etc as everyone else said. Possibly check the float also.
  2. Sorry, It is electric start only. BUT... I just had a play around, etc... wheeled it out the garage, tried to start it.. and it worked!? No idea why..... But it works! lol, Magic finger?
  3. Nothing at all happens in the chamber. Spark plug wont even spark (tested it outside of chamber)
  4. I have come to the conclusion I think it is the starter motor... I applied direct 12v to it and nothing happened? But then again I'm not sure if i tested it 100% correctly. I also cant find a replacements starter motor. Would any other starter motor form a different bike work? Cheers.
  5. Im 90% sure this is a electrical problem. I was out on the bike (all was fine) and came home today. Turned the bike off, went inside got the garage keys, went back to the bike, tried to start it. 'Click'.. It doesnt even try to turn over.... Just click. I took the spark plug out, see if it sparked. Nope.. Just click... What is wrong here?? It did start to rain a little as i got home / went inside.. ? Any ideas? Cheers. Oh, and its deffo not the battery (checked it) and I'm just about to check the solenoid.
  6. Not bad bikes performance wise for a 125.. But as said, dont compare to a Cagiva Mito or RS. I'm not a fan on NSR's really though.. to me they are pretending to be something they aint... a big sports bike.. and with the smallish wheels etc Is why i was put off.. but thats me
  7. Clamp the petrol pipe coming from the tank shut..

Could it be worth taking the carb out of the bike and giving it a real good check over / clean? Checking that the float is at the correct level etc? I dont know if you have seen my thread, but the first time i worked on a motorbike engine (and i managed to fix a screw'd cylinder and piston!) It is worth having a go, just remember how everything went etc etc... (learn alot that way also)

No, its very similar to this (like a thumb screw) Although the bar was straight, not curved. It opens up so you can put it over a pipe, then close it.. and then screw it down (Turn) http://www.elderly.com/images/accessories/ACC/GA82-BLK.jpg

Or if he keeps the fuel in the tank, he could do what i did, and block the pipe Theres a special tool which i used.. which kind of screws together.. But im not sure what its called
  11. Cheers guys yeah, i know, it feels great accomplishing something that is somewhat dangerous and new to The best thing about it all though.. is.. I really appreciate the bike alot more
  12. Hey guys, thanks for all the advise etc.. Today i finished putting the top end together.. and attach all piping etc.. So.. it came to win or fail time.. I turned the key and.... Nothing .... Injected a little fuel through carb.. and.. VROOM It came to life!! Well chuffed, first time on a motorbike engine and i manage to fix it! :D I have been riding today and I got 80 miles just done today, lol! (Running it in, very gently) Very chuffed !!! Thanks again guys!
  13. Thanks for the reply I know i seem to ask alot of questions.. but i dont want to get it wrong I'm not to sure where you mean by "In the water jacket". Basically.. If you scroll up you can see a pic where I am currently at. I have the Cylinder on and head off. Is this fine? or will i have to take the Cylinder off again? and I'm also unaware of where the power valve is (or where the ring for it goes ) Thanks for the speedy reply Oh, if it helps?... Here is a pic of my old cylinder/head so u can explain via it maybe Thx. http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/7404/img0002fn1.jpg http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/599/img0001wi9.jpg
  14. Does it not show them in the manual you downloaded? The only 'O' Ring i see mentioned is the two big gasket O Rings just under the head. I didn't include this in the photo though as i knew about them.. It mentions something about 'Seal Ring' but this is all it says... (if that is even a O ring of part of the head, im not sure..) http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/2088/dealringjy3.jpg I mean I have look through the pages of the top end reassembly.. and i see no O Rings... :S and I didn't take any out either.. so.. bewildered..
  15. Hi, Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I checked the Con Rod bearings, they are fine . Now.. These 'O' Rings.. I'm confused. When i took the head apart I saw no 'O' Rings, so I'm still unsure where they go.. You say provide a seal at water connections.. but I still am not sure where or how.. As there were none before... is lithium grease absolutely needed? As I have none.. Cheers.
  16. Hey guys! I received the new piston/cylinder (top end) rebuild kit. After my exam today I started to work on it. So far i have the piston assembled and cylinder on etc.. I am confused as to what these washer / gaskets are for.. They are black rings (circle and have a circular body to them) But I never take any off when i was dismantling the top end, anywhere.. Here is a pic: http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/6131/washersgasketspb6.jpg What are they for?? Oh, here is how it looks so far! Very clean and nice smooth cylinder/piston! brings a tear to my eye http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/9256/newcylinderyu3.jpg ! (Doing the rest tomorrow, if you guys help me out with what these odd black washer things are for which i have never seen before! lol Cheers guys.
  17. Right.. Thanks again guys! I think i'll just stick with what the guy gave me... 10w40 (SAE75) or w.e lol.. Unfortunately the Rebuilt Kit didn't arrive today ( ) So I will have to do it after my exam tomorrow, if it arrives. I'll let you all know how it goes Cheers.
  18. "Light GEAR" Synthetic fortified 2 Stroke gearBox Oil - SAE 75W is actually 10W40, I would be inclined to get 5W40 seen as thats what the manual says. Ahh.. I cant find 5w40 anywhere! I have looked in over 10 different bike stores today! Would i be safe to use the 10w40 though?
  19. I'm well confused, lol! I went into a motorbike shop.. (they do repairs and sell stuff etc) I asked him what i sohuld get.. He passed me: "Light GEAR" Synthetic fortified 2 Stroke gearBox Oil - SAE 75W
  20. Okay, I need to buy some 4 stroke 5w-40 today to fill the bike back up with! now.. Im a little confused.. is 4 stroke the same as 'normal' oil, aka the stuff i would use in a car? or is it very specific like the 2 stroke is? Thanks.
  21. Great stuff guys, Cheers! Dont know what i would do without ya Gonna get some sleep and have a go at it tomorrow when the rebuilt kit arrives. Cheers! How much should i lubricate the Conrod area? I.E before i put the cylinder ontop etc. Should i do it lightly with my finger also or..? (I'll check back in the morning, thx mate )
  22. Yes it includes the barrel.. piston.. rings.. gaskets.. the bearing for the top of the conrod.. So its like a full top end rebuild (i think thats what its called) Okay, I have a few questions before i crack on tomorrow! 1. Conrod area how is this lubricated? via 2stroke or shares the engine/transmission 4stroke 5w-40? 2. Should i carefully lubricate 2stroke onto the cylinder walls and piston (lightly with my finger) Really appreciate this guys!!
  23. yeah, i thought since a 1 pin came out.. I might as well buy a 1 pin to go back in! So it will be here tomorrow... Cant wait to see the results! Hope it works
