  1. yeah like stated..

On a 4stroke, and such a little engine, not much you can really do tbh..

Personally i wouldnt of touched the front sprocket at all..

going one tooth up on the front does the same as dropping a tooth on the rear, but the front gives more of a drastic effect to acceleration etc.. especially against winds, you will probs find you will get slower and slower..

    Not so.

Going up a tooth from 14 to 15 on the front will be a jump three times as much as going down one tooth on a 45t rear.

    Think about it.

  2. Got the gear peddle back in place, that's working fine now. The mechanic fiddled with the clutch and now that's working better than it was before but at high rpm's (starts at about 6k) it feels as though i'm holding the clutch down. The revs go ridiculously high very fast without delivering much power to the bike. It's fine as long as i stick to low rpm's but that restricts my top speed on a 125 :/

The mechanic needs another fiddle with the clutch, he's adjusted it so it's slipping. And get it done sooner rather than later before you burn the clutch out.

  3. Its very easy for criminals to manipulate innocent people into doing their dirty work for them.

Do we know for sure they were not blackmailed into carrying the drugs?

"carry this package or we kill your family"... that kind of thing...

That's the standard excuse of anyone caught for the same crime.

Why take a chance on frightening someone so much that they might go straight to the police when there are scores of mugs looking for easy money?

  4. She had obviously had a bad day and needed to vent her spleen. You my friend unfortunately was her only means of doing it. Hopefully after she had done it and calmed down she realised she was well wrong and apologised. If not you need to sort it!

Like a woman's going to do either...

  5. But as Tango said.. Normally the simplest things get missed, and normally there is a simple reason behind things..

    :D

How true. When my much loved Capri died on me a few years back a quick check under the bonnet it was one of those simple little things that had caused it to stop.

A piston had come through the side of the block.

  6. Some large goods vehicles & I think some coaches ( Stu, some PSVs ? ) have an onboard breath tester & the driver has to provide a negative sample before it'll fire up. if that was fitted to every car.

There's enough electronic shite fitted to modern cars, much of which is unreliable, hard to fault diagnose and always costs a fortune to fix.

    No thanks.

  7. Hey i'm pooley and im new here and after a little help.

Ive had a honda city fly 125 since 2001 from new and have had no problems so far,its a great little bike.

The other day i noticed my bike looked oily so gave it a clean,a few days later i noticed the same thing so i cleaned it again and checked the oil level! it didnt have any oil on the dipstick so i drained the oil out the sump (3/4 of a pint) had some metal shavings in the oil,bit worried about this.

i filled it up with fresh oil and ran it and it appears not to be leaking oil but a little bit of smoke is coming from the area where the the exhaust meets the engine!!?? what does this mean?

i last had my bike serviced in august and had the oil changed!

    is my bike screwed?

Any help would be brilliant, thanks in advance!!!

I'd be worried too. Metal shavings in the oil means one or more internal components has suffered serious damage. You need to get used to checking the oil level regularly, not just waiting till you notice a problem. What does the engine sound like?

  8. Chrome is porous and water will get always through into the metal underneath. It needs a regular wipe with an oily rag or whatever commercial products that form a barrier to seal it from the wet.

  9. Radio Controller cars.. Nitro powered and Petrol powered ones that cost in excess of £400 each :D expensive hobby..

Hey, I've got three electric Tamiya cars and two Kyosho motorcycles, all kit built. I don't race but it's a fascinating past-time and I love building the kits and upgrading them, proper ball races etc. I'm about due another one, I think.

  10. I use chain wax myself, though you'll get as many recommendations as there are brands of lube. If you commute in all weathers a daily spray of oil during the wet spells won't do any harm, if you're a sunny weekend warrior like myself just do it when it looks like it's getting dry.

  11. Think i could wrap it up and give it to her as her Christmas present??

A mate got two front tyres on his wife's car for her birthday,,,,,,, don't think it went well tbh

I'm not surprised. New tyres should always go on the rear.

  12. The CX500 was developed from a Honda project bike which had the same engine but only 360cc and that put out 38.5 BHP, so your bike will be nudging fifty. No matter how many miles on the clock it won't have dropped to anywhere near 33BHP.

Get it restricted or invite a whole load of trouble.

  13. Plugs would be my first port of call too. They are service items that need replacing several time in the life of a bike and were something that was routinely checked in the past but tend to be neglected these days because the tank needs to come off to get them out.
