I've got a fozzie visiting me this weekend to give me a hand I looked at the Haynes manual and it was okay to understand but I need to buy a clutch holding tool, torque wrench and a load of other tools that I didn't even know existed I've got a washing up bowl that mysteriously disappeared from the kitchen a while back Thanks guys for the tips, I'm ordering some stuff ready for fozzie so he can do his magic while I crack on with the TZR, I've sourced an engine!!!!!!!! And new tires fitted on Wednesday!

Thank you GOG I've ordered my Haynes manual and looking at different tools that I'm going to need to take it apart, I'm very nervous about taking it apart because I've never delved that far into an engine before What would I need to clean the engine? Just some paper towels and elbow grease? Is there anything in particular I'm looking for? A new piston, cylinder and a gasket set is about 170 quid so I'm going to get that once my new card has come so I can use online banking again

Anyone had any experience with that socket set? I need a new one

Bike slayer* I had oil in this bike so there was nothing else I could do It had 14k miles on it and you have to almost red line it every where to move

I think the "Night Racers" are supposed to have better performance than the "Night Breakers" which just give more white light. I also think they are in a similar price. Ooops, I'm an idiot, I thought that sounded familiar, I have Night Racer plus in my 125 They come in a cool package of a mini motorcycle helmet as well

I have Osram night breakers in my 125 They've made a significant amount of difference

I guess I'll have to get a new engine if you guys think that's best I guess engines won't run all to well with tiny fragments of metal in it There's not a great lot a of metal missing off the piston? A new cylinder and piston set is half the price of the another engine I'd rather spend that other half on the engine for the TZR Hmmmmmm, not looked at the oil filter yet Allan Where does the oil go around? Gearbox, alternator?

But surely if I can clean the crank cases, get all the shit out, I wouldn't need to buy a nw engine? I'd much rather put extra work in to it and spend less money than more money for less work?

Hey mr fro Indeed it has I haven't a clue what that layer of black stuff is on the top, the head was okay, didn't get to snap a picture of that, I've got a replacement head from my seized engine which will be replacing the old one, the chain was all good, the cog the chain was attached to was all good no missing teeth The crank shaft, span ran around without any noises at all I think the piston wiped out my cylinder at the same time though http://imageshack.com/a/img546/6150/2iry.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img42/8595/ucdy.jpg

Thanks dude Some pictures I think the piston has gone on it, I emptied the oil as well and the magnetic thing that's attached to the sump bolt had no pieces of metal on it, I'm assuming that's good? Hmmmmm, that looks more than perfect! If all the evidence works out i'd be happy to spend that It's only got an hour left on it so I can't get that one, have to wait till I get money

Can you forward me there number please joeman Well, I'm going to take the head off tomorrow, and take some pictures and then post them on here so you can all tell me it's f**ked and I'll probably try a rebuild, I cant afford a new engine, the last mechanic charged me around 800 quid to find me one and fit it for me!

I'll have some new pictures soon on the TZR soon got some tires on order, and a few other bits and pieces that will be on shortly I'm just being a lazy f**ker and need to get my arse into gear and the money isn't exactly rolling in The YZF is my main form of transport so that will need sorting first though I'm afraid
