  1. Yeahhh! But I'm to far away
  2. NOTD is being awarded to the bast*rd fly I chased around my room for ages... It disappeared and just reappeared now I'm in bed
  3. Hey EAB, just seen this :/ I've got all the parts I need for now thanks, Fozzie is rebuilding and repainting the engine I've bought new crank seals, gasket set and should polish up nicely If Fozzie tells me the rust is to deep into the crankshaft and can't be saved I'll be on the look out for another or another engine I've not been doing much with it recently, got the swing arm on with its new shock absorber and that's about all I can do until I man up and start polishing some parts and spraying but it's too cold!
  4. Queen! Weeeeeeee are the chammmmmpionnnssssssssss!
  5. Thanks GOG I'm going out tomorrow to get some new bolts so I'll nip into halfrauds and get some autosol I'll perhaps send the bottom of the forks to that fast line who powder coated my frame to powder coat them as well The top of the fork is chrome so will autosol just take the rust straight out? failing this, what else? Thanks
  6. Take a shower more often I think it's the rain and sweat that makes them stink mine did the same all I could advise is not to put them in the washing machine the lining comes out and is a bitch to get back in
  7. Okay so I thought id post this thread instead of a new post on my restoration thread so it gets more people viewing it I've been looking how to spray paint radiators and I've had some mixed answers some say it can block the fins up and prevent cooling and some say it'll be fine with radiator paint? It does have a radiator guard on it which could be sprayed black and potentially cover up the dints and paint scuffs on the radiator but I want this bike to be mint so I'd prefer the radiator painted Another question, I saw bonniebirds thread the other day on about autosol (looked awesome by the way) what can I use this on? Can I use it on the head stock/yoke thing, handle bars, forks? And what paint would I use on the forks, just ordinary paint that I'd be using on the fairings? The forks have pitted rust will they be alright sanded out or do I need specialist stuff? I'm so confused and don't want to mess anything up Thanks all
  8. Hey fozzie, I've PMed you Typical god damn Royal Mail! I pay for faster delivery on the parts I can fit today on my day off and none of them comes! The only parts that have come are parts I don't need yet like, wheel bearings, battery, headlight, throttle cable I need my new shock absorber! :'(
  9. Try starting it and then take the plugs out and see if they're wet if they're bone dry then it'll be no fuel going though
  10. Okay so I got a letter telling me I've got a big fat cheque on its way for damage to my second YZF I've found a nut and bolt set for the fairings on ebay which I'll buy, I obviously won't but back the rusty ones that can be replaced I meant the swing arm bolt and the engine mounting nuts, where can I get new ones? I may be strong this project done faster than I thought
  11. Thanks guys I'm well impressed considering the state of it when I took it there The only problem I'm having is bringing my self to use the old bolts on it :/ What's the best way to remove dirt and rust off bolts? Also, the shock absorber that's rusty too, do you reckon just paint the spring with hammerite or sand it all down and spray it? (Obviously after I remove the dirt and rust)
  12. http://imageshack.com/a/img716/4226/k467.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img407/7691/ik25.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img6/6489/k97b.jpg Frame and wheels are back and they look absolutely awesome, fully recommend FastLine coatings in Preston The wheels are Ice white and the frame is grey/silver thing
  13. Well done I'm not jealous in the slightest
  14. My leather suit is water proof to a certain extent but the crotch isn't and I get some stick at work when i turn up with a wet crotch There's some spray called something like neverwet which you cover your suit in and the rain just brushes off it... I've never used it so I can't recommend any brands
  15. That's surprisingly really nice
  16. I'm a massive idiot and when I cleaned the rust up of the frame it said 2RK not 2RH (easy mistake for an idiot) I spoke to EAB and that engine would fit but may need the wires in the left crank case adjusting slightly I'll PM you now Fozzie On a lighter note the frame and wheels are being powder coated this afternoon frame is going back to original colour and the wheels are going white I'll upload a picture or two of the frame for you all in a bit when I get home
  17. Hi EAB I've spoke to him and he said it works and to prove it he will give me a 2 week warranty, he wants 150 for it but I'll try and get it lower It's for a 1988 2RH model and mine says 2RH on the frame I think, because the last letter is rusted a bit :/ And it's only a hour way He's just messaged again and he has a few other parts I'm after but no wiring loom, his is as f**ked as mine
  18. From what I've seen of the other parts he has listed I think it's all taken apart :/ He's not replied but there is still time yet. I'll ask him when he's replied if he has other parts I need
  19. Hi EAB After looking more at the engine it looks like someone has take a chisel to the insides they've goosed up the bolts, there's a chip missing in the clutch basket the crank shaft is rotting and there's an unbelievable amount of metal flakes lying about So by the looks of things I'm going to have to get a new engine or spend a fortune rebuilding it :/ There's like no information on this but quite a respectable ebayer: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261311802686?redirect=mobile Any thoughts? Thanks
  20. Yeah, glad I did, thanks You think it's worth buying another engine though? It would save a load of time but it wouldn't feel as 'special' when it fired up :/ Bearings, crankshafts, pistons can be picked up reasonably cheap off ebay then again there's an engine on there for a 100, god knows what the past is :/ If I rebuilt this one fully then I would most likely get more miles out of it than I would if I bought another off ebay :/ Hard decision to make :/ Thanks Joeman
  21. I took the cylinder head and cylinder off to inspect it and it turns out it had no piston rings or gudgeon clips, good job I didn't start it (doubt it would've anyway ) After discovering this I have taken the engine out to rebuild it A few pictures http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/5022/9psi.jpg http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/2554/d9d6.jpg http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9619/pwjx.jpg Is a rusty crank shaft necessarily bad? This one is pretty rusty :/
  22. Thanks EAB I'm determined to get the bike running this weekend so I'll inform you of how that goes Is there a simple wiring diagram any where that only shows the very basics that need to be connected for it to run? Make things a little simpler till I get a new loom http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8056/44sa.jpg http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/9240/82tc.jpg Some shitty photos for you all
