  1. Person that started the thread hasn't been back in three months, guys. Think we're a bit late.
  2. I got a pair of Alpinestars WR-V goretex gloves last year, very happy with them - keep the rain out perfectly (as one would expect) and keep the cold out nicely too. No issues with freezing hands when riding over the past few weeks! £70 on Sportsbikeshop.com, well worth the money in my books.
  3. The North? You mean all that stuff past Peterborough?
  4. And remember to check them for the problem that led the CB125 to be replaced by the CG125 in most third world markets - the camshaft bearings are easily buggered if the oil isn't changed regularly enough.
  5. Here's a thought - guessing you're bringing a camera? Unless it's one of the fully sealed tough compacts, bring a ziplock bag with a pack or two of silica gel in it, in case you get soaked and need to dry it properly. Or bring a film camera!
  6. I'm sure the question on all of our lips really must be... Which bike are you going on? My money is on the YBR.
  7. I went camping in Essex in March two years ago and nearly froze! So cold that I could barely sleep, despite being curled up in a ball, fully dressed, in my sleeping back, on a ground mat, with my bike jacket as an extra blanket. If you're dead set on doing it, bring a sleeping bag that's rated for some damn low temperatures.
  8. RantMachine MUST RANT! Quick one though. Our IT lot accidentally changed the permissions to the secure marketing folder, giving THE ENTIRE COMPANY full read/write access. Don't know how long ago they did it, but praying that nobody has mucked with anything. All locked up safely again now. Heart skipped many beats...
  9. I've only ever ridden without my gear twice; Once when I went to retrieve the BMW after it broke down at a friends house (could've sworn I left my bike jacket there, turns out I only left a helmet ) And once to drive to the One Stop on the other side of the housing estate to buy beer
  10. We tried to make Gratin yesterday, it went as well as a Chinese bike A few too many substitutions took place, I fear.
  11. Certainly was a fun one, as always! Yeah, Eurosport shafted me a few times too. The organisers have a Youtube channel that's also worth keeping up with, pads things out a bit. Price had one hell of a lead by the end, nowhere near as close a call as last years podium! I should really stop backing team HRC. Or at the very least, never put money on them...
  12. Sunday breakfast. Tastes like freedom.
  13. Front and rear drums. Nuff said?
  14. Still touch and go whether I will have a bike to get there on - might struggle to make the journey two up with camping gear on a CG125 with no 5th gear
  15. I probably deserved that
  16. Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass - not my sort of bike. I've still got the CG to ride about on, but there are also a few bikes coming out this year that have piqued my interest. Who knows, I might finally take the plunge and get something on finance... Don't think I'll be taking on another project too soon, I just want to actually do some riding for once
  17. If you'd seen my other recent posts in other threads, the money ran out so I'm sticking it back together and flogging it I had some awesome ideas for it, but sadly BMW ownership does not match up with my wages. Especially when it's a crapped out BMW. And I'm paying Cambridge rent prices. Ah well.
  18. Daaaaamn, sorry to hear it
  19. "Draw swingarm pivot out": Soak all bits where pivot passes through frame and swingarm with penetrating fluid and repeatedly smack pivot with rubber mallet until tired of feeling utterly hopeless, repeat process tomorrow.
  20. Yeah, I shared that one on Facebook last night - forget about MotoGP stuff, THAT is a proper highside Shame it looks like Goncalves is out of the running for another year. He might get onto the podium if a couple of miracles happen, but it's looking grim. Poor bloke doesn't catch any breaks!
  21. Greatest recipe of all time: http://i.imgur.com/nvktq.jpg
  22. Yeah, that's pretty awesome! I feel like the race isn't as colourful as it once was, ever since the 450cc limit was imposed and it became more of a factory sport. Back in 1980 there were four Vespas in the race; two of them finished! So it's nice to have someone riding something a bit different
