  1. Also - bye bye Bang Bang, better luck next year
  2. Awesome, glad you're enjoying it! As a side note, it amuses me that we have almost the same bikes, just I have the older and more decrepit models
  3. Aww, I missed the big day I had a song and everything... Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday dear forum COUNTERSTEERINGNODDINGCHINESEBIKESATGATTHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA The end.
  4. Get well soon Al!
  5. Okay, so maybe Barreda doesn't deserve a win. He's being a bit of a peenarse racking up all these penalties, he'd have a really solid lead by now if he didn't keep speeding in the untimed sections. Maybe Goncalves deserves to win this year, though. God knows the guy could use a break, he hasn't been the luckiest. I mean, it's got to suck when one of the most iconic photos of your sport is a picture of you crying http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/sports/images/attachement/jpg/site1/20140110/002564bc674514398cfa01.jpg
  6. Apparently I checked the results before the penalties were applied. God bloody damn it.
  7. Tonight's show starts in 2 minutes on Eurosport 1! I saw the results on the Dakar Facebook page earlier today, so I know I'm gonna enjoy this one
  8. Click and reserve it at your local store , then they'll email you when it's ready to pick up. Very syrprised that it's not available in store thou. Some of the online only stuff comes direct from the supplier or even from another smaller company that sells through Halfords, those items can't be collected at store at all as they don't hold stock of them in store or their distribution centre.
  9. Also, I've updated the Red Bull link so that it goes straight to the Rally Raid section
  10. I seem to recall that my last Dakar thread consisted mostly of me talking to myself. And the few threads I've posted about Rally-Reps have gone similarly well
  11. Shame about Stage 1, but Stage 2 was a good laugh! Nice bit of mud
  12. +1 on using a drybag as a liner in any old backpack. Or get a cheap backpack with a raincover that wraps around it and pulls tight, that's all I've got (£15 Tesco thing with a drawstring raincover). Keeps the rain out longer than any of my bike gear does! Or my topbox, for that matter,
  13. Cheers Chris! I'm already forced to resort to another supplier for my tension strut bearings due to run of the mill BMW obstinance and arseholery, might as well cost up getting the whole lot from there.
  14. Not long now! So naturally we need a thread for the Dakar that nobody besides me will post in Everybody got their Eurosport subscription paid up? Here's the link for anyone who doesn't already get the channel via Sky: http://www.eurosportplayer.co.uk/ I saw some unscrupulous folks on another forum mentioning that there are even websites where you can stream Eurosport without paying, but of course I wouldn't condone that And don't forget that Red Bull stick their own highlights on here: http://www.redbull.com/en/motorsports/offroad/rally-raid This is Joan Barreda's year, I can feel it!
  15. Back to life again! Cheers guys, I have some money left on the Halfords gift card I got for Christmas so I know what to spend it on now. Shame I can't also buy the £60 of bearings and other bits with my trade card...
  16. Awwsome. Cheers fuys, too drunk for proper teply
  17. Actually, simpler question: Would this be okay? http://www.amazon.co.uk/White-Grease-Water-Repellent-Marine/dp/B007D59CCC Can't see any reason why not, but what do I know
  18. As mentioned in another thread, mine are utterly sodded. Ordering new ones tomorrow once I've checked if the linkage bearings needs changing too. The guys over at the F650 forum are big fans of using marine grease in the bearings and on the pivot, as far as I can tell from a few Google searches there are various types of marine grease and while the Honda stuff is meant to be the best going, I can't see anywhere local that sells it or online that doesn't look dodgy as hell Any recommendations? Marine grease (specify a brand if you can) or otherwise? Don't want a repeat of everything rusting to hell and I plan to put this bike through some serious hell once it's back on the road so I want something heavy duty. Cheers all!
  19. Really ought to take my key in to Timpsons some time, I don't have a spare Edit: *checks key is there after posting*
  20. Best present was probably the semi-rigid tool bag Crystal gave me, I'm forever juggling loads of bits of crap when I go out to work on the bikes so it'll be damn handy. Worst present was from my parents, who re-gifted me my own copy of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds after finding it in my brother's room.
  21. And then my mum beat us all at cards against humanity
  22. From my Mum and Dad this Christmas:
  23. Merry Christmas to All And to all Chinese bikes are shite
  24. For a second I thought you were going to tell us you were going to do your full licence. Should've known better...
  25. Already got it, on VHS and on disc. Also have almost every single issue of the US and UK comics, and a worryingly large horde of Gen 1 toys. I've been in recovery for three years now, haven't bought any new transformers since Fansproject Ultra Magnus. Oh, and my folks managed to dig up a Gen 1 Ultra Magnus as a Christmas gift somewhere along the line, but I didn't buy that so it doesn't count.
