I'd save a few pounds and go for an Oxford lock, quite a lot of them can be used to lower insurance if declared (personally I don't as knowing me...my bike will get stolen the only day I don't use the bloody lock and my insurance would be void...) Otherwise agreeing with the rest unfortunately!

Pretty safe from my experiance....damn annoying though... The only debatable part of the test is the "Swerve/avoidance", personally I think it's 100% safe....but i know most accidents for the Mod 1 happen here....But that's more-so to people either panicking or poor training than the test....don't slam on the front brake until your straight and easy-peasy!

Mini cooper with a prat-driver who nearly takes me out on a mini roundabout....Had to swing the handlebars to the left as my elbow smashed into his wing-mirror Pure luck i didn't drop the bike!

About the same.... No problems with the jacket...helmets....neck gear even.... It's just the trousers that bug me....probably because i'm a tad lazy at times!

Hey Jarred... Sorry you didn't pass!! I don't beleive you'll get a discount going to another school to complete the C.B.T unless it's part of the same chain... But if you didn't get on with your instructor it might be worth you trying a second choice just to give you a bit more of an overview? The next guy/girl might be a more-suited teacher for you! Howdy All, I've just purchased a brand-new Yamaha XJ6 600cc Beauty which should be arriving in a fortnight or so and I had an idea for when it arrives...Not that I plan to be knocked off or throw the Bike on the floor, but I've decided to fit some Crash Bungs/protectors on just encase! (Figured it makes sense!) All I can find (R&G etc) are up to the 2012 version, just wondering if they are universal for the model or if I need to wait until they are built! Ta-Very-Much in advance! Slightly jealous... I have the 2009 model and it seems the niggles still haven't been worked out. Done 3k Miles in about 10 weeks and it hasn't skipped a beat. Even when I got knocked off it happily started first time and got me 170miles to home. In for a service tomorrow, lets see the outcome... Also have the same issue with the gear box, definately going to be getting an XJ6 but i've decided to keep this bike around as a backup/get-around-town! Plus I can take it apart piece by piece to start teaching myself the proper maintenance.....win-win!

I've had 2 runs up there but i'm holding back until i get something a tad bigger than a 125cc! (As much as I love the L plates..) Great run (got bloody soaked on the way there first time annoyingly...) Do you end up in the cafe?

I would suggest getgeared.com Same situation as you a month ago, got a cracking pair of arctic gloves for £35....(They are summer but you can get winter ones also)....delivery next day as well Good luck!

Completely agree Xmister.... Can't wait, hopefully if everything plays out positively I should be running through the Theory and Direct access in about a month....then i can't wait! I also bought a camera (Roadhawk), the audio is on the camera with no internal-helmet cables etc so i can post videos but not commentate as I'm going....wouldn't mind as i don't see many Vloggers on youtube from my way! Cracking description...i purchased the same about 1 month ago. Been riding it constantly and it's really done me well! (1200miles so far and counting...) Also have the same issue with gear-changing/neutral. I've found on mine it also does it (Very very rarely) between 4th -> 5th. Never the other way around and I get the same issue as you mentioned with the neutral-bug! Wind definitely surprised me though, this bike definitely likes to follow it! Think I need to eat a few more McDonald's! And yes. Headlight....I keep a wind-up tesco's torch on me, coming back from Stanstead airport and wow....darkness.....the Tesco's torch actually came in useful wedged in at the front of the bike to see the road-markings! Off to pick up a decent bulb this week! Onto the next bike in a few months! I can't see me loosing too much money on the purchase though, I may decide to keep it as a town-only bike but un-decided....

Nice family car for me today...Picasso... Coming down the old A13 (Prefer it leaving work to skip most of the traffic due to the roadworks...), i'm following this car for at least 2 minutes...plenty of room as it's raining. I take my hand off the bar to wipe the water of my visor and she decides to give me a break check, nothing in front...no corners...nada...50-0! No problems lucky enough, left enough space for 2 double deckers in between...(Ignoring the stall.... ) but then the polite lady decides at a roundabout further along to "tap" the back of my tire changing lanes (Her being in the wrong one....)...obviously i wasn't going fast enough for her at this point! And she had the gall to flip me off as well!! (Irony kicked in as she took a turning on the roundabout meant for the outside lane....which i chuckled at!) I'm sure they see an "L" plate as "ooo free insurance claim, look honey i can get the car repainted into that color i like!"

I've only been riding for a month (125cc) but i nabbed a decent flip-face Aston helmet for around £60-70...fits perfect. Grooves for glasses as well if you need them... Now i just have the habit of leaving the face up if i'm riding through town....must stop doing that....
