I didn't realise that was a thing
I am pretty sure it's not as great as we are all thinking

Just got back from an hour on the motorway in heavy rain. Jacket was fine, trousers leaked worse than ever!
Anyone lend me some money for gortex stuff?
ex army gortex over trousers from eBay! I got a pair for about 15 quid and they work a treat. Yes I look a bit silly in my camouflage trousers but I'm dry so don't care!!
Look for the Ex-Police ones, they are black gortex instead of Camo
Or RAF ones are navy blue (yes, yes I know )

i had this issue with my agv k3, trying to fit the boom mic in from my scala wasn't having it, but scala provided a second mic that is just a thin cable, with a flat circular mic on the end, that you can then secure in place with a sticky pad. job sorted.
i had no issues with the boom mic in my shoei qwest though.
This is the helmet I am having an issue with, so it's not just me I'll just have to have another look around then... Thanks!

Yeah it's a boom mic, is there like a small type you can hide away somewhere?

Sorry, I should have clarified, the mic is the bit that caused the main issues, there's no room for it anywhere, the speaker sticks into the gap where my ears go fine, but it's all one unit

Good morning all,
A friend and I recently bought radios with those headsets with a sticky pad speaker a mic that's supposed to hide behind your cheek pads. The problem is, my helmet is such a snug fit, that this solution doesn't really fit inside my helmet no matter what I do.
Has anybody here experienced this problem? Is there a less bulky option? (I'm expecting there's something really obvious and I'll look stupid
Cheers,
Nick

Thanks for all your help everyone, turns out compare the market could give me a much more reasonable quote, was sort of hoping I wouldn't have to cancel the insurance I got last month

That is why I suggested Marmalade. Did you look at it? You do not cancel your current policy, this is a bolt on policy
Yeah I did thanks, the new policy I'm looking at only comes to about £30 extra a month, appreciate the tip though, will keep that in mind for future reference

As well as staff allowances, MEPs are able to earn up to £91,000 a year in "daily subsistence" and "general expenditure" expenses without having to provide any receipts or proof of expenditure – a practice that would not be tolerated in Westminster.
The "subsistence allowance" or "per diem" of £258 is paid in cash without any proof of expenditure, when MEPs sign an attendance register in Brussels or the Strasbourg seat of the parliament.
The payment is known as "sign in and slope off" among the more cynical MEPs and is notorious for allowing them to pocket the money without staying in the EU assembly, or even Brussels, to do any work.
Last summer, video footage of MEPs slapping and pushing a journalist filming them while they claimed the daily allowance as they arrived at work in the evening sparked new calls for reform to the EU assembly.
No reforms were made and there are no plans to change the receipt-free allowances system after European elections in May
Gravy Train .
So how do I become a MEP? I would actually work for that money too!

Good morning all,
So I just tried to add my (learner) sister to my car insurance. I have a 1200cc Ford Fiesta. Apparently the car is too big and scary for them to insure her so they offered me a new policy with a different underwriter at about a 350% price increase. I kindly told them to sod off.
So my question is, can my sister take out her own insurance with a different company on the same vehicle? As usual Google seems to be woefully unhelpful on the subject but you guys seem to have a really broad knowledge base.
Cheers,
Nick

It isn't bollocks, nor is it a fueling issue. Stalling isn't the problem.
The real purpose of warming up the engine is to encourage the flow of oil around the engine. When all the parts are properly lubricated, there is less likelihood of seizure.
What the OP suggested, which was basically pressing the 'on' button then driving off, is damaging to bikes. The highest level of wear and tear occurs at the point when the bike is started, and this is because the oil hasn't properly covered all moving parts at that time. To accelerate, from cold, an unlubricated bike engine and clutch, is to hasten damage and risk catastrophic component failure.
My bike manual specifically says to ride off immediately and do not leave the bike to warm up

Only complaint - it would be great if it was long sleeved. The stretch panels in the arms let the wind in and you get cold arms.
Used mine in Cyprus and then loaned it to my sister so never noticed this issue

Thanks Guys!
I purchased a 2nd hand (like new) RST Pro series black white jacket on eBay for £110. (£60 cheaper than new)
Also I got a set of New RST Blade trousers on eBay for £119. (£50 cheaper than new)
Total Cost = £229.

Also the Jacket comes with a Free RST Vest??? This is not a liner, the jacket has that too. Whats this vest used for?

Just need boots now, I love the RST Tractech EVO boots in white/black. but they arent waterproof! only the black one for £10 more. Are there any other good brands of boots? As for gloves, I'll maybe get some RST ones - any decent ones to look out for on eBay? And helmet, I'm browsing the Sharp website at ratings. Maybe get a decent white or black one, needs a drop down sunglass visor. They're cool.
Then the final task will be to decide on what bike to buy!!.... Oh, the can of worms, 250cc for beginner or jump to 600cc....
Good choice, I have that jacket and it's spot on. The vest is a sort of wind proof under layer.

Amuses me that Churchill is still deemed to be even remotely relevant in politics
Ditto, especially as most people didn't even consider him relevant immediately after the war

Cracking looking piece of kit Rob! Welcome to the BM club
You're obviously in a line of work where BM has a very different meaning than it does to me

The pay by phone in Oxford is actually really good, it even sends you reminders and lets you top up your parking. Shame it's not worth paying to park there in the first place although there is one very central car park with free bike parking anyway

Apparently Rossi has had to have his legs cable tied to the frame of bike to prevent him cheating again.
The Rossi fanboys are going to be all over that one like a rash!
I almost rose to this but managed to calm myself down lol

Yesterday I was driving in the middle lane, overtaking traffic in the left. A car thundered up behind me and started flashing his lights and beeping behind me. There was no room to pull in on the left and the right lane was clear, so not exactly sure what his problem was couldn't he just... Overtake?

I've got an RC125 if you want some input from me, although I haven't seen a single person on one except me since I came back to the UK!

Just so you know you're not alone, there is a roundabout in Oxford where some of the lanes just disappear half way around the roundabout
