  1. Key point here. Most GPRS GPS trackers require a 2G SIM card as above or one of these
  2. LOL, another YBR. Been looking at RD125LC's myself but not sure I can warrant the cost but might talk myself into it if I get shot of the CBR.
  3. Make any progress with this ?
  4. Googling seems to suggest a common complaint although there seems to be no definitive answer. Dunno what milage its done but could be worn basket/sticking plates ?
  5. Might sound stupid but if its just on pull away, is the drive chain adjusted/lubed correctly and not a sticky link ? Failing that could be sticky plates in the clutch.
  6. My Z1000 has a clutch that's noisey as hell until you pull the lever. Its been like it since new. Does pulling the lever make a difference or just the time the engine has been running from cold ?
  7. Bugger, I wanted to know how much use a camera would be if you got rear ended at a t junction and got knocked into the path of a passing HGV or if you had a helmet camera and your journey sliding down the road on your head concludes with a broken neck because you had a camera attached. This is got to be one of the friendliest bike forums around with a lot of knowledgable and experienced people. Shame he decided differing views of a personal choice were enough reason for wanting to leave. We all need to respect that not everyone is going to have the same views as themselves and agree to disagree.
  8. dont mind rain if im already on the bike....its before i start, when i mind:P I'm just the opposite. Hate to get caught with my trousers down as it were, much rather put the waterproofs on before I set off than have to stop to put them on during a ride or risk walking around like I wet myself when I arrive.
  9. Your start point is different to mine but both groups are leaving at the same time and heading to the same place. Just don't forget to update your RSVP if you do change your mind due to weather. Looks like there might be some rain hanging around from the day before if the forecast is to be believed
  10. See you guys at the chip shop. I'm going with the group from Sidcup. Going to be pretty awesome with 57 bikes from the two groups. Cod and Chips starts at £7.50. Take your own ketchup as the stuff in the shop tastes like Morrison's own brand.
  11. Not far from me. Like to ride as much as possible. Start your own thread or PM if you fancy sorting out a ride. Quite happy riding group rides with 125's Same goes to O.P. as well.
  12. There was a guy on the ride yesterday from North London and a ride up to F2 motorcycles in a couple of weeks. IS there anywhere North of London worth visiting then
  13. Join the LMRC on Facebook and meetup.com plenty of stuff going on on there and spaces left for wessons tomorrow.
  14. Wessons and back is a good ride. Takes in 7 mile lane and a scenic route in Yalding alongside the Medway if you so wish. Oh wait, I'm doing that this weekend with LMRC As Phil said in the other thread, 200 mile round trip is a pretty long trip this time of year. Hope you have heated grips and a decent jacket There's also 1066 cafe
  15. I purchased a couple of units off of ebay and use them with the free site http://gps-trace.com/ They even do an app for android smart phones you can use with their site (not sure about i-pig) Only drawback with all these systems, although you're not paying a monitoring company, you still need a 2G sim card with data connection for them to work so even the free ones are not free as such.
  16. Just bought a pair of these from J&S for £49.99 PROS Double Velcro fastening cuff giving wide range of fastening so you can choose to have them inside or outside your sleeves. Comfortable Choice of colours Good range of sizes that seem more generous than other brands. CONS None so far. Will update if I find some.
  17. Purchased a pair of these recently and they were pretty much the only ones that fitted well on a recent visit to J&S. Price was £190. Sizes come up quite generous as they are a size smaller than my RST boots that are no longer waterproof. The boot size is the same as my shoe size. I haven't needed to wear them in to be comfortable, and they have been super comfy right from the start to the point I've almost forgotten I am wearing them. Time will tell how well they wear or stay waterproof. Only downside I have found so far is I cant easily fit my jeans over the top of the boot as it's slighly larger than my RST boot and a little taller.
  18. Replacing the seals could prove to be a false economy if the pistons are pitted and needing replacement. I'd be tempted not to bother until pistons have been freed up and inspected. In the short term, a damaged dust seal isn't going to cause too much bother but a damaged oil seal could cause a fluid leak/loss of braking.
  19. Can't say I've ever seen twin venturi on a bike. Normally multiple carbs bolted together with a couple of pieces of metal framework. Sure someone might know better. If you do find a bike one/some of them might fit I'd be interested to know.
  20. What sort of milage since the new rad ? Have you lost any coolant ? Personally, I wouldnt panic too much. Just keep an eye on it. Does the oil look milky ?
  21. Gear oil. It's cheap and it works without the premium of all the marketing bullshit. Don't over lubricate so it throws it off everywhere and also clean and lube the chain as well regularly as opposed to just continuously lubricating it. You can use and old toothbrush to help if you don't have a chain brush for cleaning. EDIT:- Beat me to it Tiggie
  22. Sorry for the delay, not been around much lately due to personal circumstances. The official line is no to Top box and OEM panniers. Can be done though with older type panniers if you use the Givi quick release pannier frames and top box combination. I just purchased the Givi arms and M5M plate for the 46L top box I had from my XJ6. In fact the top box still has the Yamaha badge on the back ! The new OEM panniers have been redesigned and mount on the pillion foot peg hangars and grab rails. They don't fit the Givi frames used on the older model or in fact the better Givi quick release frame either. V35 Panniers can be used with top box I have. See link here I was considering the FZ1 before I went for this bike. No centre stand is a PITA at times but I bought a Skylift to work on it which has proved useful for working on my newly acquired CBF600 as well as someone took the centre stand off that. Stock tyres were Bridgestone S20R's. They were o.k. but I'm not a great fan of Bridgestone tyres as they seem very good at squaring off. Have these fitted now. MAXXIS
  23. Got one of these for my Z1000sx and then bought a 2 inch RAM mount extension from amazon as case hit tank without extension. http://www.ultimateaddons.co.uk/Vehicle ... Attachment
