  1. Ok, well if you come up with something and want a riding partner give me a shout. Assuming that I can get the appropriate time off work. Of course, a lot of this depends on what and how you plan to do this. But keep me in mind.
  2. Lol .. no worries mate. Must be some tag left that we could both chase somewhere. I'll probablynot be doing too much tagging if it is too wet so I might have a tag or three left. Scotland is the killer but I really want to have a go at it.
  3. Cool, there are a lot of Somerst and Devon tags to collect so that would be nice. Thanks.
  4. Aw thanks guys. I got some fwends. lol
  5. lol ... you're mate. It is a long way to go for a ride but, if I decide to collect the tags in the London area I'll need some support so I'll give you a call. Anyone closer to me?

    New Ink

I have a few silly indian ink and needle tats done when I was 15 or 16. Regret them now. A friend of mine has a tat of a scroll just above her pubes with this written in the scroll. 'For your own safety, KEEP OFF the grass'
  7. So, enjoyed collecting my first few tags yesterday but the one thing that was missing was someone to ride with. There I was sat in the cafe of the Burhnam-on-Sea Pier, cupping my hot chocolate thinking, I wish I had a mate or two Anyone want to be my friend?
  8. Today little trip The ship Inn The Midland Spinner The white Swan Clevedon Pier Burhnam on Sea Pier
  9. Can someone please help. I got out today and got myself pics of my bike and three tags and two pubs. Went to upload and the pics where too large. Used online re-sizing app and then TMBF says pics are too many pixels. I changed the pixels and now the pics are so small I can't read my number on the bike! How do I upload these pics? EDIT: I think I may havae sorted it
  10. Yes but they have the theft on file now so his premium will increase though.
  11. It was TPFT, Stu but partly through ignorance he was just not aware that £1550 excess meant that he would not be able to claim in the event of something happening. And to rub salt in his wounds he now has a jump next year and he cant claim a penny back.
  12. I know that you are right Tango but it frustrates the tits off me. I don't know if he dealt with it entirely by himself or if a parent got involved, Joe. Worth asking I suppose. I know that this is the way insurance companies do business but it is frustrating that he can't get married, vote, fight for his country, drink alcohol and god know how many other things at 17 but he can be relieved of £600 for a policy that is not worth the paper it is written on. I think that they, the insurance companies, should have a legal responcibility to ensure the under 18's understand exactly what it is that they are buying. He has found the bike now ... assessing damage. A few fairing scrapes and scratches and the barrel is knackered. Been hot wired. Frustrating thing is now that he has spoken to the insurers, even though he hasn't cost them a penny he is still going to have to pay through the nose next year because he has 'history'.
  13. Indeed a sad and expensive lesson for a 17 yo. It just goes to show that some companies have no scuples at all. Transparencies seem to apply one way with these people. Yes it would have been stated that the excess was more than the value of the bike in the proposal but it wasn't made at all clear that he would not be in a position to make a claim in the event of ANY incident. It's about time some of these companies are made to take some responcibility for their own actions, or lack of.
  14. I don't know but surely after taking £600 off of a kid they should make it clear that any claim would not return a penny? Unfortunately, he didn't talk too much about the policy before commiting. You or I would laugh in their face at that proposal but then we are not 17. What is the point of selling a policy that he could never hope to claim on?
  15. ... my Wife's second couzen has spent months saving up for the insurance for his first bike. He is only 17 so you can imagine money doesn't flow too freely. Anyways, he eventually managed to save enough to pay the insurance, which wasn't bad at c£600 TPFT with zero no claims on a CBR125 and L plates. The bike cost him £1500, on his step-dad's credit card, and the insurance in place he proudly started riding his bike. He's had it about five or six weeks and some toe-rag stole it. He called the insurance comapny, MCE, and they said, 'You told us the value of the bike is £1500, your excess is £1550 so nothing to pay out thank you for your business' ... maybe not in those words. They are clearly abusing the fact that he is a young man with little or no experience and surely they knew that this policy was worthless when they took his £600. What, if anything can he do about this? He has argued with them, as was suggested by another forum member, that the policy is not fit for purpose but thus far no joy! Your thoughts?
  16. Add to that a couple of pubs and you're well up-and-running...... Absolutely, Tango. No reason why I can't get 50 points by Monday
  17. Thank you GoG ... Two of these are 20 minutes away from me so I have no excuse for not getting 20 points before returning to work.
  18. I feel like a child on Christmas morning counting down the minutes till I can open the presents. Every fifteen minutes I refresh the page looking for the 2015 tags and then, curling lips downward, wonder off to find something to do for another fifteen minutes till I refresh again. I know, I need to get out more. As soon as the 2015 Challenge tags are published I intend to! Honestly!
  19. Allways happy to meet up for a ride, weather permitting.
  20. Happy new year all ... 2015 I definitely promise myself I am going to get out more than I did in 2014.
  21. All I can say is, 'I wish I were nearly 39'!
  22. I play, just for fun these days, a strat but I much prefer the sound of those humbucker pickups. Gibson Les Paul is my favourit. Just noticed your bike. Shanks Pony! I have one of those too but rarely use it these days. Prefer the ZZR or car. Shit I would even take a bus rather than take the old shanks out these days!
  23. This year (2014) I registered with every intention of getting out as much as possible. One thing and another, that didn't happen so next year (2015) I am making a promise to myself that I need to be more pro-active and get on my bike. I only managed about 1500 miles all year and three hundred and fifty of those were a visit to my mother's in Manchester.
  24. Watched your entire 9 vid trip. Well impressed, Rod. I would love to make a trip like this, but sadly I wouldn't get the time off work. I'm trying to talk the wife into a UK trip ... way up into the highlands of Scotland next summer.
  25. That was 125 quid when I bought it 6 months ago to use at home Less trade discount Made it 105 Don't think I have ever seen them more than £125 to be fair That's right, Stu, piss on my fireworks! It's a good price though.
