Didn't know this one. Looked up my bike and was shocked at the average millage it claimed! About 100 000 miles out but to be fair it did estimate!

https://www.instantcarcheck.co.uk/ Stick in your reg and pay your £x and away you go. (prices vary so look around) There are loads of online companies that do this. Just Google Motorbike HPI checks and you get a list

Lost my bike cover. The wind took it. Can anyone suggest a really good sturdy thick protective coveer that can be secured around the bike so the wind don't take it? Looked online but they all look as flimsy as the one I had.

Cheers mate. Wont be doing this for a while but it is a job on list for as soon as I can.

So am I looking at a clutch rebuild then Stu?
-
I am pretty fussy about chain tension and check it regularly. I have tried pulling the clutch early and coasting while trying to find the neutral but that doesn't work either. Immediately after starting it has taken me a minute or more to get neutral. After an hour ride it is within seconds. I keep getting told that all bikes are the same but to be honest, I don't know another bike as bad as this one. At first I thought it was my inexperience but I have 'played' with a few bikes now taking a quick run round the block and it has only highlighted how difficult mine is!

Not long had a service mate. New oil included

Not a major problem but it would be nice to be able to select neutral with some degree of confidence. Stopping, for example at lights, I always try to select neutral but find I am missing it. 1st to 2nd then back to 1st. By the time I get it the lights have often changed. This problem is not so bad when the bike is warmed up. By warmed up I mean after a good 30 minute plus open road ride. Is this potentially a clutch issue that might necessitate a basket change at some point, a gearbox issue or something else I have not thought about? I have recently changed the clutch cable and I know that it is correctly adjusted. When I go for a ride out with a couple of mates I am ALWAYS the last to be able to get neutral and they have all suggested something is wrong but, typically, all suggested different things. What are your thoughts??

I would agree with Stu - check the rear shock. When I first got my ZZR600 it felt like the rear wheel was trying to overtake the front wheel everytime I took a corner. The rear didn't slide, or lose traction at all, just that weird feeling in the gut that the back wanted to be in the front. My mate said pop it down and I'll sort it. He wound the rear shock off a bit, it was set much too hard for me, and now it feels good. I feel more confident and don't have the sensation that the rear wheel want to overtake! I'm still an inexperienced rider, only been riding since Christmas, but I am starting to 'feel' when something isn't right.

I can't help but wonder what this lot is going to cost you? I'd be reluctant to pay for everything HE has messed up. This could turn out to be a very expensive service and MOT.

Couldn't get it off so masked everything up and painted in situ. Quite pleased with it actually. Looks a lot better that it did anyway.

Ok guys I am trying take off the whole handle bar unit and give it a bit of TLC with a new paint job. I have the levers on both sides off and disconnected the electrics on both sides leaving bare bars. I have removed the central nut and loosened the allen bolts attaching the bars to both forks. I can see that the whole unit moves and wants to come up but the unit underneath the ignition barrel seems to be stopping the bars coming off. In the pic you can see a screw or bolt or something but there is no room to get anything in to undo it. Plus I cant see if it is a socket, screwdriver or allen bolt. Anyone taken one of these off before and can remember what to do? Please.

Nothing like a bit zippy on a cold winters evening!

Rainbow ... forgotten how much I used to like them when I was a kid.

Oooh does all keys need to be programmed to ECU then? I was thinking of getting a spare key for my ZZR

Thanks guys ... update. I had a good look at it today and checked the valve again ... thanks for the tip Rene ... all seems ok. I got some soapy water and ran it around the rim while pumping like crazy with the mates footpump ... nothing! Called another mate who came out and within twenty seconds diagnosed the problem. Would you believe, BOTH pumps were knackered. He got his out and after 15 minutes and a fair bit of sweat, we got to 32psi ... enough to ride it gently to the local garage for a top-up. Who would have thunk it? TWO pumps knackered. Another embarrassing problem solved.
-
also let it run round bead of tyre so as your pumping you will see if the bead not sealed but it sound like valve to me as well Tried the soapy water thing and I can't see any bubbling. Tomorrow I will have a good look around the rim.
-
I used my bike this morning and just had a feeling that something didn't feel right so when I got back home I checked the tyre pressures and found the front just a little low. 32psi instead of 36psi. I attached my pump to it and the tyre went completely flat and wouldn't pump up ... assuming that the pump was knackered, I borrowed a friends pump and at first the tyre started to go up but then it went flat again. I've looked all around the tyre but I can't see anywhere that is obviously punctured but I can hear air escaping from somewhere but I can't pin point it exactly. Suggestions for finding out if it is the tyre or the valve?

It's a lovely sunny day and I had an hour or so to kill so, obviously, the bike comes out. Now, my confidence and skills are improving around town. I am comfortable with most of the town stuff. I can read the road reasonably well, can get through most journeys without having to hit the brake and can ride without putting a foot down unless I absolutely have no choice but to stop! Not saying it can't be improved but I don't worry about it - but, my country ride is pants On the bends I am often in the wrong place, wrong speed or just misreading the road. Any advice, youtube clips, or pages to visit that will help me to sort this out? I know the theory behind it and can usually manage it in the car but once the bike comes out everything seems to go to pot! Any thoughts?

Here is the RoadHawk Ride Vid

No worries Rennie ... I did think about 'Tried and Tested' After all it is sort of a review! -
I took the bike out today with the cam on to test the sound aspect and was ... well, lets say it proved to be worse than useless. Oh, not the sound. that wasn't too bad actually. What was worse than useless was the damned picture. It was raining and a spot of rain sat on the lens and I couldn't see anything for most of the journey. Is there a way round this or use it only when dry? Also, I was told to use rain X to keep the rain off my visor. Is it safe to use on plastic? I thought not.
-
Ok so here we are. The first ride with the RoadHawk on. I can't comment on what the quality is like compared to other cams but I can say it was a piece of cake to set up and get running. It certainly does everything I need it to do. It appears clear enough to see who is at fault in the event of an altercation and clear enough for me to be able to analyse my own riding for the purpose of improving. Sound with the waterproof cap on is not good as you can hear, or NOT as the case may be. Will test next with the other cap. Is it worth the £87 I paid? Yes I think so but would I pay the £150 full price? Not sure that I would. Would appreciate view from other who use a cam as to the quality. ">

Cameras on your bike.

Much better price!! Get some footage up soon Will do. Looking forward to seeing the quality and hopefully it is as simple to use as the RoadHawk site says it is. Me and technology have never been particularly close friends. I like it ... It doesn't like me
