  1. Fine Vision is a pinlock for visors with no pins. Does what it promises and is easy to fit in minutes although they like you to allow the glue to cure for 24 hours. Readily available and on Fleabay for £9.99
  2. Do you get your fuel from a reputable dealer in case the water is mixing into the fuel at the pump? There are some hooky boys out there will do anything for a buck!
  3. There's an visor insert called Fine Vision which is made by pinlock and works on all visors with or without pins. They cost about a tenner and are on eBay. I ordered one today so I'll let you know how it goes when I get it fitted.
  4. Which one are you riding? I'm a K1100 LT SE man myself!
  5. I had one of those Oxford clocks on my last bike - they're Velcro backed and there's a self adhesive pad to stick to the bike. It works fine but isn't the easiest to see as its quite small. Better get one of the analogue clocks which are easier to read.
  6. As per Throttled's post above. I have the same Bluetooth sets and they work a treat between rider and pillion as well as rider to rider. A word of warning - make sure you both have the same Bluetooth headsets as some won't pair with headsets made by other manufacturers. Don't know why!!
  7. Go DAS- you won't look back cos you won't need to!!
  8. Remove the liner and wear long johns - they're easier to keep clean and fresh and mean you don't have to wash the textiles so much. It also means you can easily change your textiles for jeans without offending public decency!! I have 3 pairs so always a fresh pair!!
  9. What does Miley Cyrus eat on Xmas day? Twerky!! How do you kill a circus? Go straight for the juggler!!
  10. I had an ar*ehole like that behind me a few nights ago so once we hit the twisties I put left hand on left knee and slowed down! As soon as the road straightened he went out to pass and I thought about taking off but decided to let him pass - just so I could get his number. One of my biker buddies is the local traffic branch sergeant so I had a word!! He hates as*holes like that!! Lol
  11. In which case having a good mechanic you can trust is a better plan - even if it means spending cash. Ask the group who they use in your area and make a decision based around that. It'll be a few pounds well invested!!
  12. I got lessons at £25 per hour booked in 2hour blocks in Northern Ireland. Just as a benchmark for you!!
  13. All my courses gave been police courses too. The standard is set very high and rightly so.
  14. Get a copy of Roadcraft and carry it in your pocket - they won't be able to argue with their own printed manual!! Cheap as chips on eBay or Amazon.
  15. I get that too sometimes!! Next day could be as good, or could be back to the day before!! On the whole it gets better and I'm defo a better rider than I was 6 months ago. Enjoy the feeling and I hope tomorrow's a good day too.
  16. I did my Advanced Driving (Car) course 22 years ago and it held me in good stead for biking as the principles are the same. The video is very educational and was pretty much how my local bike instructor teaches his students.
  17. Run a search through your emails for text like "motorcycle theory test" and you should find it pretty quickly. Alternatively check your bank statement for the date you paid and only check your emails for that date. Simples!!
  18. Great work DL - another Mod2 pass!!
  19. Well done DL. It brings a smile to your face! Now your learning really starts!!
  20. Relax - your examiner is a biker who once sat where you are. You've done all the hard stuff so far so just ride safe for half an hour, remember your lifesavers and don't linger on your mistakes. Best still get some distance between you and him by slipping through lights just as they change!! Most of all, enjoy your riding a bike. Let us know how you get on. Al
  21. You can't get points for cycling - you can only get points for licenced driving or riding. You can get fined however but points are impossible.
  22. At lights always keep a look around you and keep an eye on the phases of the lights. If you're in neutral and you see the other lights begin to change, get yourself into gear and ready to move off. They don't like you to be surprised by the lights changing so you should be anticipating it. By looking around it shows that you are alert and aware of other road users and watching for hazards. Lifesaver. Lifesaver. Lifesaver.
  23. I recall somewhere in my misty memory banks that bikes shouldn't have inner tubes fitted but for the life of me I can't remember why.
