  11. Hi people, i am hosting a charity ride in aid of the Nottingham City Hospital Neonatal intensive care unit. Some background. On 28th april our close friends Carla and Micheal after spending a week in the nottingham neonatal ward where she was transferred to because of a comlication, gave birth to JJ weighing in at 1lb 9oz and 16 weeks premature. Because of how early he was he was very poorly, lungs wernt properly formed along with many other abnormalities commonly found in premature babies. He is now the longest staying baby in the icu at 79 days. his parents have been travelling to and fro since his birth, cherishing every moment they get to spend with him and savouring the small moments they get to actually hold him. The work these units do to save the lives of these tiny miracles is endless and tiresome but day after day they do their best and save lives. Various friends and family have been raising monies in different ways and it is our turn to show the support that the biking community is capable of. there has been a charity week in a local One Stop shop where Carla and my other half works, another stores store manager is having her head shaved, cake sales ect. Onto the event date Sunday 16th August 2015 starting point is Boston Lincs, Wide Bargate carpark PE21 6RY meeting at 11am leaving at 11:30am destination is Motortown Cafe, a46, Market Raesen, lincs LN8 3SF the ride will take approx 1 hour 10 mins and take you through some of lincolnshires great roads. All motorbikes are welcome, from 125cc and up. this will not be a race. Depending on numbers i may need a couple of voulenteers to help marshal the bikes on the route and help collect donations so anyone who maybe interested please contact me via txt or pm on here, contact details below. Donation will be £5 minimum upon arrival at wide bargate. And for those who cannot attend but would still like to donate you can do this here: http://www.gofundme.com/wqx324 For those who are not able to make it to start point for any reason ie:late, or maybe you live close to destination, please feel free to make your way to the cafe and meet us there. The cafe have agreed to hold discounted prices on food and drinks for all those attending and donating to the charity event. I am also contacting local bike shops in the hope for some raffel prizes so bring a bag people you may get lucky lets hope the weather holds off and stays nice, however reguardless ill be there and taking one for the team in the name of a good cause. Anything i havent covered feel free to ask, and if possible please list below if attending so i can inform the cafe of numbers. A facebook event will be created so feel free to share and i will post up as soon as i have sorted it. Thanks for reading Craig 07477222434
  12. Shame! He obviously is one of those people who lies so much they believe their own lies
  13. Wet riding top tip is be smooth! Rear wheel spin is common to be honest when using bike in all weathers but can be reduced by decent tyres and 'smooth' throttle. You will get there with confidence just take your time. Most people have accident on roads thy know 'like the back of their hands' just bare that in mind and think why
  14. Computer says no Unfortunately model financial citizens like yourself have no data proving they are a reliable source to py back money, and the worse part of it is the financial bodies will steer clear because they see you as not contributing to the countries growth as intrest pays their wages. Although....... Its not been unknown for someone like yourself to get finance so give it a go
  15. Who cares i get to use a thermometer
  16. Yeah the brill, i use mine more in the winter to highlight how cold the workshop is and our workshop dog is scared of it
  17. I have one. What is the nature of the "safety instrumentation"? Regards, Rev Dr Fro Infra red laser thing? So much fun arnt they, i look for any excuse to use it
  18. If i remember ill get a temp in the morning when i get to work. How ever, most of us have aftermarket cans and a lot are carbon that dont stay too hot its only really the link pipe that does and that is out the way enough
  19. There will be mixed views here through personal experience, decent textiles and by decent i mean comparable prices to decent leathers then they will offer good protection, there is a few matirials that have very good abrasion protect. What you need to bare in mind is textiles are more user friendly, bit more free to move, cooler in summer and warmer in winter and waterproof! Leathers arnt waterproof, yes you can treat them but they still don't cut the mustard. I personally wear leather with waterproof over suit or jacket. Bit more of a maul but hey. I trust leather more than textile so thats why i choose it. I came off in leathers and i still wear them, i dont think i could say the same for textile, so coming off repairing bike, replacing lid as well as all gear isnt my idea of fun
  20. Its much better than a helicoil (which can unravel) you drill a hole and then tap it, the self cert is a collar with threads on the outside and inside. Its screws into the threads you create and the shoulder locks up against the step you cut in with the tool once its in and locked (you can also loctite it) then you screw your sunp plug into it. You tube it the kits are a little more than heli's but its a peoper permanent job
  21. My uncle had an old Renault once and he had to lift the engine off its mounts to change the starter motor Some new Vauxhalls you have to remove the front bumper to change a headlight bulb. WTF is that all about? Its all so people dont do meaningless things themselves and they go to main dealer and charge you 3 hours labour for a bulb, and while its apart they always find loads more that 'you might as well get done while its apart' Vw t5 is awful! I have had to do a few jobs on one lately and although now inknow how its done i wouodnt mind doing it again, its very time consuming and labour intensive and vw are the masters of really hiding nuts and bolts
  22. you ever service ford galaxy or even try to work on the engine or even tx4 (black cab) Ford in general are a pain, the newer stuff is awful!
  23. Helicoil or self cert it
  24. Great day by the looks of it, weather looks perfect. Im by no means at your level but from watching this, your body position needs to be more egsadurated, imagine you are trying to put your head out and in front of the bike, outside arm should be nearly straight and head out where the mirror would be. This will help get your weight lower down in the bend and you can get on the power a lot earlier. Also setting yourself up for the bend, at the moment you are moving to one side of the bike ready to turn but basically doing it as one movemnt, think a corner ahead, set yourself up way before while your on the brakes so when you get to your tipping marker thats all you have to worry about. Hope this helps buddy. Lap times will always suffer when your out on track with people slower that you because you cant always use your line and have to overtake on bends which makes the bend slower so maybe your ready to move up a group, you can then follow them and see what they do and improve that way
