Yeah I used a hair kirbee thing, atleast I'll know for next time. Just got to wait for the battery to come now and see if the old girl starts!
-
Sorted now, the o-ring was stuck the carb in the hole, the washer must of been stuck too. Thanks again for the help guys
-
It's the carb on the YBR that I'm cleaning, can seem to find a washer on any diagram that I can find!
-
Yes I did, not sure what one it might be for. The pilot has a spring with a rubber o-ring and the air is just bare. The washer fits both, I'm thinking air?
-
This little fella thought it would be funny to fall out when I was cleaning the carb, any idea where it's supposed to go? http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0077.jpg
-
Yeah I meant safe to go to town on the inside of the carb.
-
Anyone ever used this stuff? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... reId=10001 It's the only cleaner a can source locally. It says I cleans the carb without disassembly, but I want to disassemble it and give it a good scrub. You guys think it will be safe?

Going to try to source as much YBR G parts as I can, up grade tyres to enduro style ones, rebuild forks etc etc, just make it a bit sturdier. Yes it will be 100% road legal. It's not going to be doing jumps and whoops, just some light off-roading. -
Bike: 2006 Yamaha YBR 125 Miles: 6000 Objective: Road legal green Lane machine! Cost: £0 Budget: ? I'll be blogging every step of what I do until completetion. The bike is currently a non-runner, it's been sat for just over 2 years and was ran for a few minutes roughly a year or so ago. Plans: Get it going, re-paint everything, replace what needs replaced, add dirt bike type modifications. http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0043.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0044.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0045.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0046.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0047.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0051.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0050.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0049.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0048.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0052.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0053.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0054.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0055.jpg

Will the Carb be easy enough to sort out for a novice? It wasn't exactly running OK before, it took alot of fiddling to finally make it go after about 9 months of sitting, but before that it had a fresh MOT and my dad rode it home (40 miles). It was for his partner but she showed no interest. Now 2 years later it's mine.....

So before I go buying many things and many special devices I'll ask on here. I finally got round to picking up the YBR that is going to my winter project, turning it into a green Lane machine! The battery is completely dead. I turn the key and no lights come on...nothing. I hooked it upto the car battery and all the lights come on but when I push starter it just chugs and doesn't start, kick starter does next to nothing. When the jump leads are off and I turn the key it lights up for a few seconds then dims to nothing. Time for a new battery? Me and my dad had it going about 2 years ago. It's a 2006 Carb model. Thanks

For example, will some WR125 parts fit a YBR?
-
So I bought a new bike, a Yamaha YBR 125 K6. Got it from my dad for 100 smackers. It last ran 2 years ago when he first got it. I intend on making it a road legal off road bike, like the YBR 125G (which I only discovered today). The bike needs a bit if work, mainly cosmetic and a new battery. My question is does anyone know if the "G" parts with a standard YBR? I'll make a project topic when I get going on it.

What's the deal? I'm seeing more and more cars and vans driving about with what seems to be tinted number plates. Surely this isn't right?

£40 for mine, went round some local fab shops with a gasket to size up some stainless pipe, got a section for free then took it too another aluminium/stainless fab shop and they did it, took about 1 hour http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0314.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0315.jpg

I've got a couple of weeks off work in September with the other half. Wales is a place we've never been. Does anyone recommend it for a 4/5 day holiday?
-
Crisis averted (I think). Managed to get the rest of the bolt out the hole. Screwed one of the old bolts and it takes a decent hold on the remaining threads. A shed load of locktite and maybe a spot weld for extra safety and it will be the next owners problem! Now just to get the other 2 out, hopefully I will have learnt from my mistakes..........
-
I think I'll just get a shop do to that. Just dreading the price it will cost!
-
So trying to reverse drill the broken header bolt out and I've some how managed to actually to break the hole instead, as in a piece broke off the edge of the hole on the head itself. Not a happy chap. What's my options here? New head?
-
My mate has been a tyre fitter for years and he always replaces the valve. I think it's company procedure
-
Cool! I'm just waiting on my left handed drill bits to arrive so I can tackle that 3 sheared bolts. Dousing in plus gas in the mean time. Wish me luck
-
So I'm safe to just shove a rag all down in there?
-
Is the a gasket I'm looking at? If so how do I get the damn thing out! http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/jojo-clyro/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0300.jpg

OK, cheers guys, going to borrow a drill from work tomorrow and give it a bash
