  1. Looks awesome! You shoulda taken me up on the challenge; mine's only had the rear wheel swapped onto the Hipster since last time!
  2. Right - found the discussion thread So will soon be taking part in this - lots of rallies this year and i'm "Road Captain" of a 125 Rally club so expect a lot of pics hopefully
  3. Can I respectfully request a change to the map? I know I'm new here, but I'm pretty damn sure Nottingham counts as Midlands and Belvoir Castle aint NE England, it's East Midlands Also - I have more than one bike and i go everywhere on all of them (The Fazer and the Rat mostly) so do I need to use the same bike in every pic?
  4. I been painting my bikes in VHT for a looooong time I'm lucky in the fact that I have a spare room that my missus let's me do all my work in (grinding, painting the lot ) and we have the heating on all the time (fixed tariff) and I have 4 x 3 bar halogen heaters for when I paint. I work on other people's bikes from home too, and do paintjobs on the side Anything to do with bike's has always interested me, and when I get into something, i try to learn as many aspects of it as possible so I went and did crap loads of courses and currently work teaching motorcycle mechanics to "out of education" kids. Plus side of that is that when I can't do something at home (no lathe, no milling machine, no pillar drill lol) I can do it at work where they have better welders too
  5. Looking good man! shame about you not taking me up Money is a bit short this end (there's 6 project bikes in my back garden - 2 kymco's!) I've decided that she's going stealth as well actually (I have and endless supply of vHT Matt Black ) but is also having a sidewinder sidecar that will steer a bit with the bike (basically the bike leans, the sidecar doesn't) I've GOT to get it done by april though as I'm entering it as one of my entries to the Rat Bike Build-Off (along with my other bike on the sidecar)
  6. Always though BvG sounded like that guy out of peep show...
  7. Boo Hiss, bad me for dragging up an old thread! Did you ever get this fixed, or has Meg disappeared? I consider myself to be a bit of a Kymco Hipster guru having nut and bolt stripped and rebuilt mine twice, built a wiring loom from scratch, and did all my engine work myself lol. If ya still need help, ya know where I am!
  8. Just my $0.02c, but surely with the SV650 being a single shock set-up, you can make (or get made) a new dog-bone to adjust the height of the rear of the bike? I would test the bike on a few different heights if you do drop the forks - although maybe a 1" up, 1" back set of risers would be easier to bring your back more upright? You could also shave a little off of the sides of the seat, that way you don't lose seating height, but when "shortie" puts their legs down, you put your legs down there's less seat in the way. Finally....ever heard of New Rocks?!
  9. I joined the forum purely because of this thread! I'm waiting with baited breath to see how this turns out. Tell ya what, I'll race you - how long it takes to complete your zing bobber to how long it takes to finish my zing chopper. Mines in its "natural" form at the moment and I have 3 other projects so you stand a fair chance!
  10. No need to mate. Spray it and take it for an MOT - they'll change it there. One of mine get's a respray at least once a year
