Nice scooter!! Worth quite a bit now...... My first was a 1965 Lambretta J125 I wasn't old enough to ride it on the road at 15yo in 1980, so went round and round my Dad's field. First 'on the road' scooter was a 1973 Vespa 90 SS which I passed my test on......... first bike was 600 Bandit in 1998

I had a similar problem when riding my Triumph Speedmaster (865). It was an easy enough job to do. Here's a thread I posted on another forum three years ago. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/swapped-stock-2005-risers-for-newer-model-risers.5427/

Good luck, Enjoy your new ride. Just take it easy until you get a good feel of the bike. The weather's certainly on your side. -
+1 Same here. I've had it a few years now. Very easy to use.... (BTW, that's not me in the vid, I just grabbed it off YT) ">

719 miles round trip on a scooter. I take it you left on Monday and only got back home today? No, approximately 9 to 10 hours each way, with stops etc. Rode down on the Friday and back up to Durham on the Sunday.

I was in Tenby last weekend too! Went for the scooter rally. I didn't go on my Triumph, I rode down from Durham on my scooter...... 719 miles round trip .... It was a good rally and great weather made it all the better.

post #607 Some great looking scooters in that video!! Here's what I've been listening to recently Shocking Blue singing California Here I Come ...... and of course, the gorgeous lead singer, Mariska Veres https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOKGUWjHWHA

I still have may Stadium Achilles helmet too. Red with gold pinstripe. These were really THE ONLY full face helmet a early 1980's scooter boy / scooterist would use.

Why would you do that? These type of youtube vids and the associated outrage at other people's driving are voyeuristic crap. I always think that the posters are holier than thou prats. ......Remember we all have our stupid moments when driving / riding on the roads.

It occurred to me early this morning that years ago, when we had the IRA terror campaign, whenever an IRA bomb went off on the mainland i.e. London / Manchester etc I don't seem to remember there being wall to wall coverage for a week aferwards like we have now. The incident was reported in the news and we quickly moved on.................. I'm wondering why has this changed now?? They say terrorists need publicity........well. they're certainly getting plenty of that these days!!

Lol should design a universal dashboard mat with a print of all different tickets, then randomly place the valid one in the middle at the back where its hardest to reach from the outside. I like the mat idea!!!! lol

FOR SALE - Dummy ADT Alarm Box
Scoot65 replied to Joeman's topic in For Sale and Wanted - non motorbike related
Yes. After paying £90 for a metal shell the households displaying them don't have any spare cash worth stealing. Or if they did, they'd spend it on more non-functioning unstealable goods. It not metal, it's top quality premium yellow plastic!! They sell like hotcakes on eBay.. people like them because ADT systems are monitored so if the alarm goes off the control center call the police. If you have a row of houses and one has an ADT alarm box and the others don't, the idea is that the criminals will rob your neighbours and not your house with an ADT box. Thanks for the reply and info. Now I know the thinking behind the dummy boxes. Cheers!! -
FOR SALE - Dummy ADT Alarm Box

I've these advertised before. Is there something special about ADT alarms that crims don't like? -

A couple of weeks ago I was riding past a layby with a guy selling honey. I've often thought I'd buy a jar to see what the taste would be in comparison to mass produced supermarket stuff...... and to also support a local bee keeping guy............. bought 2 jars and got talking to the guy who then tells me that he goes over the Eastern Europe regularly and brings back the stuff by the load!!!!! So much for supporting businesses who produce stuff locally !!

Carrying Helmet in Flight
Scoot65 replied to Samy's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
I've taken my open face helmet in my carry on bag several times. This is on KLM UK to Philippines. -
I remember doing the same from the mid 80's to early 90's! Happy days, riding a Vespa T5 to the four corners of the country. Great scene. I still have friends who are well into it and prominent in the scene. Last rally I did was IOW in 2011. My mate always lends me a Lambretta if I want to get my scooter fix. All great fun. Nice one!! I agree, scootering's a great scene. Thanks for your replay

Scooters!! I've been riding and attending scooter events and rallies for the past 35 years (I'm 51 now). I've never been without at least one scooter (usually three or four) at any one time since I got into them at aged 15. Currently have a 1964 Lambretta TV/GT200, 1979 Lambretta GP200 and a 2016 Vespa GTS300. …..
