Thanks Pete, yes I believe it's all routed as was. The throttle lever I mean is on the carburettor, the bit the cables are connected in to to pull/release.
-
I'm open to all suggestions The choke was fully closed and the cable is correctly adjusted, I made sure there was no pull on the choke mechanism or the throttle lever (I did notice the choke cable is a bit frayed, but that's a job for another day, greased it up to reduce the wear)

Morning all, Well I am on a mission to make my Bandit 6 a bit happier. I've just swapped my carburettors for a spare set as my original set had a broken idle screw and also one of the vacuum nipples had been snapped off by a previous owner and they'd just welded over the hole to fix it meaning the carburettors could not be balanced correctly. My new carburettors have a working idle screw and all nipples are in place. Now i've not had much time to investigate this yet but when I fired up my bike for the first time last night (10pm) it was sitting at about 6000 RPM! I swiftly cut the engine as my bike is far to noisy to be running in my garage at high revs at that time of night. Anyway; I think the idle screw was fully adjusted to the slowest setting before I fired it up. I was also expecting to have to balance the carburettors to get it running smoothly. My question is, why would it have been running that high and what else can I adjust to bring the RPM down to a sensible level? The idle screw is currently fully adjusted clockwise, so it can be turned anti-clockwise (which would appear to tighten it up) Any suggestions / ideas? I'll be having a look when I get in from work. Thanks! Matt

Hot weather - What to wear?
red replied to wannars125's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
So do we think EDZ style wear would work for keeping you cooler/dryer under standard textile clothing? I'm finding myself in a dilemma in this lovely weather purely because in the car I can wear t-shirts / shorts and have the windows down. Doing my 40 mile commute to work on the bike in dark textiles doesn't appeal greatly because it's so hot! -

I'm now keeping an eye on the forums, but currently my bike has no back wheel on it, no petrol tank and the cam cover was off yesterday for valve clearances etc. Hopefully we will be back on the road soon though (few bits being done) New chain / sprockets (x-ring gold professional with correct sprocket teeth for Bandit as mine were geared down for acceleration by the last owner and I also have to commute so saving fuel etc) New rear tyre (Avon Storm ST) Full service Cam chain tensioner fixed (possible fix my on going rattle? it was apparently seized solid) Valve clearances reset. Rear damper play fixed. Along with a few other bits. -

Balls so I miss this and Fiesta In The Park in May now.. what else good can be arranged for the only weeks i'm out of the country?
-
I will be up for this, unsure if I have spare space though, will see how it progresses kack.. edit.. depending on the date.. im away 6th to 22nd of May
-
I might be up for it if i've sorted a few electrical problems I encountered from using it through the winter. (Damn damp) Both front indicators currently don't work (assumed blown bulbs) which isn't ideal and hence hasn't been used in 3 days. Needs some damp start too as if I leave her out whilst i'm at work it runs on 3 cylinders at low rpm but fine at higher rpm and also fine in the morning straight out of the garage.. leads, plugs and electrics will soon be sprayed!

Briefly until I found out it was not a meet.

This isnt a meet

Not nice today though!!

Yeah odd that, it's Huntingdonshire all the way up to Yaxley, there are even signs for it.. yet it's apparently not a county

I'll watch with interest but might be working this weekend..

I got my blue iridium from http://www.demonwebvisors.co.uk I was let down by racevisors, they took my money and a week later told me it was out of stock and wouldn't be in for a month.. didn't they have a stock level indicator at the time?!!?! Anyway they were pretty speedy at giving me a refund so for that I can recommend that they are quite reliable at least.
