  1. I keep meaning to pick up a reflective strap thing that goes diagonally and then around the waist.. Half the problem is that when i'm riding i'm carrying my frickin laptop in it'd bag so would cloak the jacket from behind anyway
  2. *bump* Don't forget to turn up if you can
  3. Yeah the cafe is slightly further on.. the xtra is known to be on the A1 although you have to come off it and upto the 605 to get there.

    Socket size?

Or measure the diameter with a ruler I have up to size 32mm and I seriously don't think any bike would need a 32mm I found my bike needed a 24/26mm and I only had a 22mm hence I treated myself to a new set of tools
  5. Sunday would be ok for me How long are you guys usually out for? (thinking of my Sunday roast you see)

    Fast indicators...

I think i've fixed this over the weekend. To locate the problem I turned the indicators on the vibrated the stalks. Problem located in the front nearside, as soon as I vibrated it the flash pattern became irregular. Took it apart and the bulb seemed to sit well in the holder. Looked at the wiring.. This was the problem for sure. The live wire had been badly sheathed and there was a definitely a chance of it shorting against the spring in the bulb holder. Added to that that the earth wire was only loosely attached I don't think it had much chance. I put some electrical tape over the bare metal between sheathing and then re-attached the ground using a shockingly bad soldering iron. Once put back together it seems to be working as it should so I think I cracked it Cheers for the prompts.
  12. No worries Can't recommend any yet as my biking buddy.. hasn't passed his cbt, theory or test etc .. he has a bike though so one day we will have some lol.

    Downpipes

I'd not use exhaust paint if you can help it. My old CG had it on and it ALWAYS flakes off and starts to look naff and trust me it's not easy to get the rest off unless you have a good machine sander or something to repaint it nicely. Just my opinion though
  14. Just need to find a 2-Way radio, they aren't cheap though. New you're looking £100+ for a set I reckon. Have a look here for some examples. (Not recommending them to buy from as not used etc) http://www.coastalcomms.org.uk/motorbik ... utions.htm

    Fast indicators...

Thanks guys! Well i recently found out that my alternator makes a horrid noise and hence is being replaced. If by some coincidence that fixes the indicators then great, if not I will be checking the connections and will keep you updated
  18. You go over near the Chequered Skipper in polebrook? In summer gets full of bikes
  19. Cheersl, I'll let you know after today.. might not be able to afford a tank of fuel lol. @MNO, do you go out much around peterborough, i'm only over in hampton so close to the parkways etc.
  20. Have you checked whether they are on the same fuse? If so has it blown?
  21. I'm not going to confirm either way but bikes in for a service at UFO tomorrow so we'll see if i've managed to pick it back up by Saturday.. I was supposed to be working but not now so could be an excellent replacement!
  22. I use my bike for everything I use my car for everything It just depends how I feel when I wake up. Generally it's a 50/50 split on the mileage so about 10k per year on the bike and 10k in the car.

I have not checked the connections, as all the bulbs seem to continue working I've not really considered a loose connection? Could well be though..

    Fast indicators...

Driving me batty.. .. When you start the bike the indicators flash at a standard rate. When on the move (rpm.. or battery charge related?).. .. the indicators have a mind of their own, they flash as if a bulb is out but all are ok. .. If you slow back down after about 2 minutes it settles and goes back to a regular flash rate!!? The indicators were on it when I got it but I think they have halogen bulbs rather than the standard ones (indicators are slightly smaller than OEM) Do you have any ideas? I was thinking about a relay to slow it down like used when you have LEDs but then I figure it's going to be too slow at slower speeds? Thanks for any ideas!
  25. Yeah that was my general thinking. I don't mind going up to 80 with it as is anyway just got me thinking one very windy day how much difference it's make. Think i'll put the money towards some new sockets or the service next week. (hopefully for a less noisy engine! see other post lol) I agree naked is best; and i prefer twin to single currently although do like both
