okay back on track - there is a fair bit of interest in doing a trip to france some this Sept and some maybe in 2009. In order to get a trip up and running I am going to need a few people to stick there hands up and say Aye or I fear the idea will just drift away - which would be a shame. Alternatively we could shelve it for this year and let people drift over here in smaller groups or individuals for this year and for us to organise a TMBF Run to France for 2009... whadya think ?

catering for Celiacs are a bit of a problem as we do not know what french food contains wheat or gluten but we would be happy to show you all ingrediants etc and let you make the choice, we usually only use fresh ingrediants and most sauces are freshly made by the Lovely Wendy. If you brought your little book of safe foods from the Celiac Society with you (do they do one for France I wonder) it would help as we can also get UK processed food stuffs but you would need to bring your own bread (perscription ?)

What we have done for another group is put 3 beds in the Twin room and put 3 single lasses in there with no problem, the cost is 50 euros per person per night so if a couple come and have booked a double (1st come 1st served) then it would still be 50 euros per person per night, so if 3 lasses were in the Twin room they would each pay 50 eurios per night Re bike hire why not ride pillion with one of the forumee's ? work out cheaper for you both on fare and fuel

You can relax Bandit - Yes I have the dates wrong but no worries the dates were for illustration more than any firm booking dates, we are pretty much up to you guy's making the suggestion of a weekend (weekdays too) that are suitable. Weather is usually good in Aug but it is Skool Holiday time and expensive crossings - we could/would do weekend Commencing Fri 5th Sept most skools will be back by then... not sure if you have a centre stand but if you do is the retaining spring loose and the stand knocking? also check wheel bearings they can throw noise under the bike from the front wheel... Lastly is there anything under the seat or in the tool storage which is ratelling...

I don't know the solution to this but do other people try and move your bike when you are not arround? I would check to see that the cable is routed correctly through any guides or gates provided and of course check to see if you have them all. I would go to a dealers and have a look at similar bikes just to make sure - if everything is correct I would consider asking the dealers if they know of any known problems with this model and even speak to the mechanic... failing that I wuld see if there are any model specific forums on the web and ask on there. Sorry not much help and I'm sure you would have already thought of these things...

Hi, does it work correctly if you depress the front brake leaver? if it does then look to see if the switch (close to the brake pedel) is clean as often they become gunged up at especially this time of the year. If the brake light fails to come on with the front lever then I would suspect the bulb fitting/housing... I had a similar problem on my FJR during a recent trip to Turkey very annoying for the bike behind me espcially when riding through mountain passes. I gave it a good hosing and plenty of WD40 for the remainder of the trip and when I got home cleaned and greased it properly and it has worked fine ever since.

you have to visit the Spean Bridge Memorial and the pub which has a museum behind it of Commando training during their inception during the WW2 well worth the effort and it is just up the road from Fort William.
