  1. I was the same- high marks every time on theory but too early on hazards. You don't just have one click so use more- your score will rocket! Just don't go overboard because if you do too many the software will tell you off and you won't score anything for that clip! And as you can see from my signature, it worked for me because I passed on Thursday despite scoring 0 on one of the clips!
  2. My partner said that, she said she felt seasick watching it. So does it not disallow the clicks if they are 1 second apart? Wasn't just me then!! My instructor told me to click when you see a potential hazard then click another two times- whichever click has the highest score will always be the one that is used so doesn't matter one bit if you click to early as long as subsequent clicks are within the mark scoring area
  3. I know it's not the time of year but talking to my instructor yesterday about clothing he said mentioned layers for winter and said to get base layers go to Sports Direct. Last night I ordered 2 thermal tops, 2 thermal pants, 2 Karrimor balaclava and a pr of Karrimor thermal liner gloves. Reviews for the products were pretty good and I spent a total of £21.95! Worth checking out while they have the stock
  4. No. Your highest score is always the one that counts. So if you click early, then click again within the 5 point area you will score 5 points. The hazard perception test is now almost all CGI- it's all looks a little weird. In fact I felt dizzy watching some of the clips. Hard to explain but it just looks sooo odd!
  5. You don't know what you're talking about. You only need a TV licence if you're watching it or recording it as it's being broadcast. You don't need a TV licence for just having a TV or any other device capable of receiving it. Seems I have been misled and I stand corrected but for future reference when you correct someone that has made a mistake, may I suggest you find a more polite way of doing it?
  6. With open eyes and open minds- Qualia
  7. Bit late to the party on this but here is my tuppence worth. I personally don't find Clarkson offensive but do not find him remotely funny either. Top Gear as a programme seems far too contrived these days. As for the BBC not making good programmes, I offer you anything by Attenborough and a lot of what is on BBC4- excellent diverse music documentaries. Oh and 6Music. Also if you have any device that is capable of watching TV regardless of whether you use it for that purpose you are required by law to have a tv licence. And if I punched someone at work, I would be sacked on the spot despite being much funnier and less offensive (to others) than Clarkson!
  8. After all my working life in warehousing I was made redundant at the age of 46 in 2009- went to uni for 3 years and now have a degree in Wildlife Biology. Currently working at a school as a Science Technician (fun job- awful place!) Had an interview today as a warden at a local nature reserve which is really what I want to do (which I don't think I will get). It has been a very challenging and stressful few years in many ways and it's tough trying to get a job that I would really love but I have never regretted the decision to try to change my career path- even if it hasn't worked out quite as planned so far. Basically what I am saying is go for it if that is really what you want. It may not work out but as you sit in your retirement home at least you can say you gave it a shot
  9. Well done mate! Enjoy your Cbt, are getting a 125 or going straight for the biggy?! Straight in the biggie although not 100% sure which biggie yet!
  10. Aced it! Even had the luxury of 0 points on one of the hazards. Bring on Saturday and my CBT!
  11. I do my CBT at the weekend and until I pass my test I won't have a bike. I'm happy doing the test before because I have been driving since 1980 so yeah I should know a little by now It's actually quite frightening to think that this time next week I will have ridden a 600 for the first time and a week later done my Module1* *theory pass permitting
  12. Thanks for the best wishes- I shall let you all know tomorrow how I do
  13. I've done the book and the DVA software (theory & hazard), read the highway code and road signs- numerous times! I think I should be ready by now. I'm fine with the theory part- got no worries at all. After 30 years of car driving I should bloody know most of it by now! Little worried about the hazard perception but I think I should be ok.
  14. Thanks for that. I had visions of having to sit there for over half an hour just doing nothing!
  15. This time tomorrow I will be sitting taking my theory test- first step on the road to my licence. When I learned to drive a car we never had these silly tests. Quick question to those of you who have taken it, can you do the hazard perception as soon as you have finished the theory or do you have to wait until the allotted time is over? I can whip through 50 questions in around 15 mins
  16. What Joeman said. I've been looking online for gear and went to a bike shop recently to have a look at bikes and clothing. The guy in the shop said that when I decide to buy (I will need everything) that they could do me a deal. Also any questions you have, they can answer rather than constant googling, going on forums etc
  17. I spoke to one of the guys I will be training with next week and he told me that when I see a potential hazard to click three times. I had in fact tried that to some extent on the software and it seemed to bear fruit. Hope it works for me on Thursday..............................
  18. I started looking for a Ukrainian bride- I hope to meet a chick in kiev!
  19. I was having a similar problem Eanx. I read somewhere that when you see a potential hazard count to two then click. I tried and my score improved a lot- way over the minimum pass mark. I've been using the official Dvsa guide to Hazard Perception- new for 2014/15. What I have noticed after doing various online ones, that the number of what you (and I) see as potential hazards has dropped. The new ones feature a lot of CGI now and seem more simplified than the first ones I looked at. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/haza ... n-makeover What I have decided to do with 10 days left to my theory is knock it on the head a bit. I've got to a point where I know what the hazard is going to be now so it negates the exercise. You may be able to get the DVD from your local library to try it out. Good luck!
  20. You're the one for me, fatty- Morrissey
