Leathers, Cold injury advise.
Marky replied to Abraxix92's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Are you sure it's the temperature that's making you uncomfortable and not a seam or padding on the leather jacket that's pressing against your shoulder in a different place than the textile jacket does? (Was just trying to think of other differences between the two.) -
Brake pads are often easy to do, fluid a little bit trickier. Haynes or a service manual is good to have, it may also be worth watching a couple of videos on YouTube (there's several). It's a very good idea to wear gloves (nitrile rather than latex) when doing brake fluid and wipe up any spills fast - it's nasty stuff and can mess up paint finishes.

Ground anchor for brick.
Marky replied to I-AM-THOR's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
There's also a couple sold by Pragmasis, which come with fixing kits for brick walls. Bit more expensive though. -
Question about licence.
Marky replied to Sunsprie's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Riding without a licence and riding without insurance at a minimum. Plus riding an untaxed vehicle. In short, don't do it; wait until you're licensed or get it delivered. -
My test included a 70 mph dual carriageway, which I think was used for all tests there. I overtook a couple of vehicles that were doing 60 too, rather than sitting behind them knowing we'd turn off after 1 or 2 junctions.

Legally, using cycle lanes on a motorbike depends on the type of cycle lane: you must not use mandatory cycle lanes (solid separating line), but you can use advisory cycle lanes if safe to do so (dashed separating line).

It's never a good idea to underestimate the stupidity of idiots!

I recently got an AutoKicker tank bag and the biggest problem is the quality of the zips - misaligned and skipping teeth.

How much should I see when doing shoulder checks/lifesavers?
Marky replied to Miguel the Penguin's topic in Motorbike Chat
If you're concerned that you're not seeing enough when you do your life-saver checks, sit on the bike on a driveway or carpark and get a friend to walk around the back of the bike. Watch them in your mirrors until you can't see them any more. Then turn your head and you should be able to see them again. Do this several times and you should find you've got all the blind spots covered. -
Motorists don't pay road tax so why should cyclists?

Could you put a clamp on the pipe before you disconnect it?

If you wanted to take a test on your 125, the only option would be the A1 test. You'd still be limited to 125 after you pass, but you could lose the L plates, carry a pillion and use the motorways.

There won't be a limit on Module 1 as Module 2 still needs to be passed within the 2 year limit of the CBT and Theory Test.
