  1. I will try the helicoil if these fixes don't work, I'm hoping the take and gasket seal arrive tomorrow. this fixes will do until I can go get it redrilled, hate the fact it seems to be problem after problem. I just want to ride my bike
  2. I could not have picked a more appropriate title! Basically I wanted some input into threaded oil sump threads, Basically I finally got my sump bolt out ( I doubt it has been off since 1997) and discovered there was no crush washer. So upon removing it I noticed some silver rings around the base of the bolt (threaded sump no doubt). After some research I've decided to bodge it as I am not spending anymore money on this bike than I need to. On the way I've got a new sump bolt and washer as well as some PTFE tap to put around the base and see if that cures the little oil leak it has developed after I removed the bolt (won't tighten, just spins loose). Also I've ordered a doody little doo dad from America a oil-tite drain plug https://images.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.pepboys.com%2Fimages%2FproductImages%2F3178100%2F65102-007.jpg&f=1 I hope this will fix it if the other doesn't. I have no intention of getting it fixed properly - this bike eats my money. other than that all I can think is to use some metal sealer.

  5. would losing a cylinder be a bike life ender? or is it fixable? ill try increasing the tick over speed. it was pretty warm outside when I started the bike, so I didnt choke it. bit like I said it rode fine for 10mins. could it be lack of air intake or the fact I changed the clutch lever?
  6. odd thing is it was fine, I dropped a gear and overtook a few cars, on approach to the next round about the power loss started and by the time I got to b and q the lights started as I drew the clutch. Could it be overheating? I did put a radiator cover on to make it look nice. beowolf one from ebay.
  7. Can anyone please tell me why all of a sudden while riding mu rf 600 lost power? The exhaust got 10 times louder and raspy, and my oil and fuel lights are coming on? It has oil to the correct level, fuel in the tank and is well looked after. Everytime I slow down to a stop and pull the clutch in the oil and fuel light comes on, and fades away when i set off again, all while delivering very little power. Thanks

  10. That road is in my local area, She has parked in the Sainsbury car park as that's closest to town, and is running to meet someone in the town centre as its still a fair distance away. A lot of people do that. that roads always busy.
  11. I don't have the required permission to see the pics but all my work biker mates recommend squires highly. I need to do a trip myself one day.
