  1. Hopefully G.o.G won't read this and shout at me I've got to just over 155mph indicated on 04 R6, and I've had 145mph indicated on my current ninja - both on track. Car wise, I've had a GPS speed of 203mph in my fairlady along Döttinger-Höhe straight in Nurburgring (the LOOOONG bit just before the exit gates) If you're interested, time from start gate to bridge was a crappy 9:23
  2. i have speakers, and that´s what i recomend to use because it doesn´t isolate you!! but you can't exactly hear them when your engine's screaming 10k rpm down some country lane at ... err.. 70mph (honest guv) can yah? I've got a set of Senhiesser noise cancelling earphones at home that I use on planes etc, and they're fantastic.. but can't use them under the lid as they "protude" from the ear a bit and rub on the helmet lining - DAMN annoying and a little sore after a while. So I spent £20 on these puppies: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/store ... ms=MDREX32 They come with different sized rubber "bungs" so you can match them up to your own ear size, and they're really tiny and don't protude out. Obv, they're not as good as the noise cancelling ones, but I can have my iPod at just less than half-volume and hear it crystal clear right through my rev range and even with motorway wind noises. An added bonus is that their cable is quite long, so you can run the headphone cable down through your jacket and out the bottom, meaning you can stick your iPod in a tankbag etc for ease of access
  3. yeah.. but you'll have to fight with Willow for the parking space I won't be there this week either.. stupid work stopping all the fun

  5. Ride down with me mate. I'm in Keyworth, which is on the outskirts of SE Nottingham - near West Bridgeford. It really isn't that far to NMans from Nottingham, I got to his in just under an hour and a half last tuesday night, and that was taking in the good twisty roads rather than the boring A52 and A1 He makes good bacon butties too matey, so it's worth the trip just for that !
  6. right.. leaving work early to get to yours (neil) at 6:30. I'm definately coming, and shouldn't be late.. but if I'm not there, give me a few minutes cya tonight.
  7. Was out and about in Matlock on Sunday, but never saw anyone. Did you go out and play?
  8. Yeah I'd bet.. the wind resistance on the board wouldn't help either.
  9. how's about Monday, September the 8th?
  10. Having seen the amount of rain scheduled to fall.. it'll be a no for me too.
  11. good site for Buxton / C&F / Matlock weather http://www.buxtonweather.fsnet.co.uk/ don't even have to look out the window
  12. yeah.. but there was a chance of rain, so no Korben.
  13. yep. all the way up to south nottingham and join the A52.. which takes you around notts centre until the Ilkeston / M1 turning (can't remember road number..).. then it's that all the way to MFN. (I live in Keyworth, which in the penultimate village before the A606 ends)
  14. nah.. I doubt they'll not catch you in a car if you change lanes... that sounds too much like an old wife's tail to me unintended hijack ended
  15. If you ARE coming, will you be travelling via the 606?
  16. yeah.. they've got averaging cameras from about Bottesford all the way to Bassingfield. Though, you may not get caught on the dual carraigeway bits, being forward-facing cameras and all. But.. obviously.. not worth the risk in finding out The A606 isn't the greatest road in the world, but it has its good points. For one, its very smooth; no potholes or subsidence issues. The amount of traffic the road sees deters horseriders, so no pooh to avoid. There's a couple of 90 degree corners in there and a hack of a lot of sweepers and S-bends. The only real "bad" bit is navigating through Melton Mowbary - the traffic can be a bit pooh, but the upside is you're not in it for long on the whole, it's far more fun than A1->A52 or A14->M1 for definate! (but, as appose to the M1, you do need to navigate Nottingham's ringroad.. but it's not that hard really )
  17. So it has! Tho I'd imagine it'll roll out a bit more and rain friday and be good saturday...
  18. Or you could spend an extra ten minutes and ride a much more fun road than the M1 http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=brampton,+huntingdon&daddr=52.696361,-0.777283+to:A606%2FMelton+Rd+%4052.873910,+-1.052520+to:Long+Ln+%4053.003010,+-1.312910&hl=en&geocode=11463725203325996818,52.873910,-1.052520%3B8617207350674814864,53.003010,-1.312910&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=10&via=1,2&sll=52.826832,-0.870667&sspn=0.599926,1.230469&ie=UTF8&z=10 The A606 is a pretty decent road. Got some good corners and some clear straights. Not a speed camera in sight (but there is an occasional copper) and plenty of spaces to pass anything slow-moving. plus.. you go past mine, so I could join mid route MFN is busy pretty much until 10pm-ish... so you've got loads of time to find your way up and have a drink or two.
  19. yep.. not going.. far too far in this amount of water :/ you huntingdon lot should make the trip up to MFN tomorrow evening nman knows the way and it's well worth it.
  20. with a touch of magic, I'll be there. Unless it's chucking it down. Or raining... Or drizzling.. Or Wet... or damp... or breezy.... or it's cloudy... or there's leaves on the road.. I mean.. I'd not mind, but no point going if Korben isn't
