  1. too drunk...... or too cold? easy to find excuses this time of the year! I can't as the bike is still in the garage without the wheels on, and I'm away from now till then
  2. Anyone heading over to MFN this evening? looking to be a good day outside
  3. Anyone heading over to MFN this eve? Having a crap day at work and want out for a blast afterwards, and MFN is a good ride from mine
  4. brilliant fun, just wish I hadn't arranged bloody babysitting on the sunday
  5. i will be up for it when i get a faster bike......did the ring in my bmw and blew the turbo up on the first lap lol I love hearing about people who just up the boost with no apparant consideration So, what happened Phil? to much redlining and not enough oil?
  6. perhaps we should arrange a TMBF outting sometime next year?
  7. I take it you didn't brake in time for the 50kmh limit then! Likewise, I have broken that speed limit a few times, an indicated 170mph on my 916 and 160mph in the Cossie. Looking forward to seeing what results the 1098s and the new Cossie engine can achieve! My best laps are 8:39 in the Cossie and a P**s Poor 11:20 on the 916. (Its a lot bloody scarier on a bike!) Hopefully I can improve both on my next visits! There's a speed limit? hehe.. yes.. and every time, without failure, I've been bollocked for doing so I can understand why tho, because you really need to get on the brakes quite hard after that sign.. lol 11:20 is a tad on the slow-side.... trafic issues or "grip" issues? 8:39 is much more respectable I'm definately wanting to try the bike route, but I really doubt I'll get anywhere faster than 10 minutes... I think I'd crap myself One question tho... on the carousel... that's some seriously bumpy surface. On bikes is it best to aim for the flat stuff at the top and cruise the corner - or is the carousel "safe" enough?
  8. true... but don't give me too much credit.... there wasn't exactly many moving parts
  9. pleasure me old mukka glad you're sorted, and see you on Sunday
  10. If you want, you can call me (will pm number)
  11. ok yes.. same principal. The rubber bits should stop the main tube from spinning round, as they will grip the inside of the bar. put it all back togehter again. Do the main bolt up till it's finger tight, then give it half a turn with the wrench. now.. insert the tube into the bar and tap it back down. DONT grease it up, else the rubber will slip and you'll be fooked till it dries out. once in, you should be able to tighten the bar-end side of the screw quite a bit, until it becomes very stiff. What you're doing is "clamping" that big bit of rubber together, which forces it to push out sideways against the inside of the handlebar. Once you've "clamped" it enough, the bar-end will be rock-solid in there..
  12. http://www.streetfightersinc.com/HesaOberonMirrorStreetFighterPair.jpg http://www.tastynuts.com/acatalog/BARENDSUZ20.jpg see how these barends have an "integral" bolt? that's the bit that you need to unscrew from the "main" shaft tuby bit with all the black on.
  13. cos the "join" is too tight. screw the nut back on. Then... HOLDING the "fatter" tube tightly, unscrew the barend again. the bar-end bit screws into the larger, fatter tube. might be worth some WD40 on the "join"... lemme see if I can get some pics
  14. and if that don't work, I don't mind coming over for 8 - I don't finish till 5.30 anyways. if it don't work, send us your postcode
  15. ah no.. wait.. they're held in by compression - stupid me! loosen the screw thats "in" the barend... that releases the "pressure" build on that black bit in the middle. once it's nice and loose.. GENTLY tap it back in with a plastic hammer / boot sole () once in.. re-tighten the bar-end end
  16. nah.. but I dont mind the trip over the hills...
  17. two screws underneath the black box with the emergency kill switch. unscrew them, the bottom will come loose. May be able to take throttle out that way. I learnt how to put mine back together by dropping it... but I don't recommend you learn that way I'd drive over tonight and help ye, but I've no fuel till tomorrow. if you're still stuck tomorrow, I can come over after work?
  18. have you tried unscrewing the throttle switch box thing? you may find it goes in from that end, then you add the bar-end back on after you've re-inserted it? sorry I can't be more specific
  19. My toolkit had a spare car tyre valve, some epoxy resin, an adjustable wrench and a small tin of 3 in 1 oil..... things you don't check when buying a second-hand bike
  20. I've the same bike as yours, and often have pillions on the back (various weights). Trying to sort the rear suspension out for that would be a pain in the bum! So I just set it for me on me lonesome, then leave it as is. You're not going to ride as fast and as "committed" as you would on your own, so not setting it isn't going to be that much of a deal.. I mean... the guy who gives you a pillion ride around the track at the Moto-GP events doesn't re-set it for each and every person he takes out - and he's going full out! Set the bike for how your going to ride it MOST of the time and leave it at that (UNLESS you're going to do a long journey two up etc... then it may be worthwhile)
  21. Yeah.. I know... one day I'll get arounnd without coming off 1991 Nissan 300zx Z32 Fairlady Twin turbo, running: Blitz K26 tubs at just under 2 bar, Jun high-lift cams, Jun 890 injectors, Trust 89 pistons, Nismo fuel pump, Nismo metal gaskets, Nismo valve kit and springs, HKS intercooler and oil cooler, HKS boost controller, plus lots of other little bits and bobs. Best car I've ever driven.. worst car I've ever owned. (still want another tho )
