  1. I did Google it, will be going out in about 1/2 hour on my new WK650TR-2 machine, unfortunately can not go to far or it will be over its first service mileage. Been a meet up place for years like the Ponderosa, the West End cafe in Llandovery and Abergavenny Bus Station. Will give it a try on another lovely day like today, probably just Betws Y Coed though today.
  2. Not sure were Crossgates is, I know Aberyswyth have stayed there a few times. Good luck with the ride, if you are ever on my patch let us know. Couple of miles north of Llandrindod Wells on the road to Newtown. 3. What you say here is true, however the Japanese and the importers had confidence in the product they where making and selling, I suspect that cannot be said for the importers of these Chinese made bikes.

  5. I usually start off by riding to Betws Y Coed, depending upon the weather, I sometimes go up to Ponderosa for lunch or just after, those 2 are are my most popular destinations, others are Barmouth, Bala & Lake Vyrnwy, Rhyl, Abersoch, Porthmadoc, Denbigh Moor. I ride a Royal Enfield Bullet Electra EFI a Red one for the moment, new bike on Tuesday next week.
  6. Back in the 60's I had a pair of leather motorcycle gloves that had a fold away waterproof over glove attached inside a little pocket on the cuff, they were great, I was wondering if anybody has come across anything similar, I have googled and googled to no avail.
  7. I think people are interested we just don't have anything to contribute! Have a "like" instead I was worried this thread was another "Onesea's fire-hazzard in the making" Anything overheated next to body probably is.
  8. Looks a good tank bag, what make is it and how many ltrs.
  9. I tried the same gloves, not much cop, even bought 12v chargeable packs, it made them better but still not good, so I got these they work a treat and cheap as chips, you first wrap them around the grip, then hold them in place with tape, slide over the heat shrink sleeving and shrink using a heat gun, fit switch under mirror post, and connect to battery. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Warm-Heated-Handlebars-Black/dp/B00JWHFD2W?ie=UTF8&redirect=true&ref_=pe_2223501_125720581_em_1p_0_ti" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  10. Bangor, although I have been up to Ponderosa twice in last Month
  11. I get the wife to do that, cannot get her to clean the bike though
  12. http://juicebubble.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Alcohol-is-a-solution-black.png I have that problem, the whiskey ran out last night.
  13. simply saying something on a website means nothing if they cant be bothered to add references.. so Brittany ferries say a helmet bought elsewhere in the EU is fine. but they don't point to the law or directive that says this. If France has granted an exception to visitors. then this fact should be accessible. Looks to me that they are just repeating hearsay. The 'hearsay' evidence ive read is that this law (stickers) is only being enforced in the major cities. and you're far more likely to be stopped at night when the lack of stickers is fairly obvious. as for the more touristy areas away from the cities.. or close to the borders. No. The idea of the Germans.. or Italians and spaniards deliberately defacing their helmets before visiting france is fairly laughable. and defacing is the right word as legally the stickers must be destructive.. to the helmet. if you try to remove them after a trip. once you apply them.. you're stuck with them (so to speak) you cant take them off... the glue is so strong that they will ruin the finish of the helmet... thats part of the legal description, if they peel off.. then they're illegal. I will let you know if they come off when I get back but it will be in the summer, Isopropyl Alcohol should get the glue off. I will be putting them on unless there is no doubt that they are not required.
  14. For the sake of a couple of quid on Amazon, not worth taking the chance, get some and stick em on, take off when you get back.
  15. Great, but you have a faster bike than I, mine is a Royal Enfield Bullet Electra EFI now with 1250 miles on the clock. Maybe meet somewhere like Kinmel Bay for an all day breakfast then on for a ride, I am in Bangor, so that would be about mid way, great café opposite Jonies £3.25 full breakfast with mug of coffee. Phil
  16. Driven around Paris in a car, 6 Lane roundabout was the worst, had to come off and was on the inside of the roundabout, had to cross 6 lanes, just signalled and went for it and trusted the French were used to it, which they are, hesitate and you are dead meat.
  17. I believe thats only for residents and not visitors No it is compulsory http://ukfrancebikers.com/2013/03/16/fr ... l-helmets/
  18. If there are any older riders or younger ones for that matter around North Wales who fancy a ride out the next time we get a good day let me know. I am 68 and just got back in to serious riding again on a bike of my own, only been riding locally on my sons bike when he was away so out of touch with other riders.
  19. Just one thing to be aware of, if you are not wearing the Hi-Vis and you get stopped do not get off the Bike, let the plod come to you, then show him the jacket. Also you need reflective strips on your helmet, front back and sides.
  20. I was out and about yesterday as I have been all Winter, are you in Wrexham area or Ynys Mon, I am looking for someone to ride with during the summer.
